We visited Kirkcudbright whilst on a long weekend to Dumfries and Galloway. There's plenty to see and the information centre is a good place to start. We enjoyed our visit and was lucky enough to be entertained by some local performers "The FEVER" Wonderful.

We used this centre to get information about maps , walking routes and things to do for our holiday. The staff were friendly and the walk sheet we bought was very useful and 20p. Bargain☺ they have a what's on board and a map of the area too.

Surprising to find so many fishing boats in this harbour so far from the sea (4 miles). The square is lovely with lots of cafés, and shops. Definitely worth a visit.

We were given lots of advice and leaflets about the surrounding area although not much about Kirkcudbrightshire itself! Great little gift shop in the info centre and loved this little town. All shops and galleries were very reasonably priced.

What a nice lady welcomed my wife into the tourist information shop. Then realising I was waiting outside with Lola our dalmatian invited us in to.The lady was freindly and had a great knowledge of the local area. Every tourist information center should have helpful staff like her!

No local OS map of the area , had to drive to Castle Douglas . Also could not advise on any horse riding routes or appropriate parking for trailer , did give some contact numbers but these were miles away , so of little use . As we had come with our horse on holiday I was expecting some help... More
