After being refused patronage by Gretna Hall Hotel AND The Old Toll Bar (they only heard through the grapevine the Gretna Hall refused us because my wife is allergic to a few things) the GRETNA INN had no such problems to accommodate us. The food was super and the staff very friendly and helpful. We can only recommend everybody to go to the GRETNA INN and don't waste your in the two careless restaurants above.

My husband and I came here for a drink after our ceremony. Well what can I say? It’s a beautiful place filled with nice smiley faces!

The lovely lady behind the bar was so kind-hearted and made us feel really special. She congratulated us, took our picture and had a lovely chat. 100% this lovely lady will be someone we will forever remember as she made us smile on our wedding day!

The pub looks so beautiful on the outside, you can’t miss it! The flowers on the very traditional pub will catch your eyes! When you go inside you will be welcomed by such a homey and traditional Scottish pub. We didn’t eat there however, when we return to Gretna we will be 100% booking a table.

Thank you for being a part of our day and making us smile. Keep doing what you do because you’ve done such a brilliant job!

Staying in Gretna we booked a table for dinner here at the Gretna Inn as it was just steps away from our bnb. The food was excellent, home cooked and served quickly by friendly hard working staff. The menu was well priced traditional pub fare. It’s worth stopping outside to look at the glorious flower displays that cover the frontage. Dinner service ends at 8pm so allow enough time or you may miss pudding.

This was average at best. We ordered two steaks for £18.99 each. They weren’t very good steaks. Over cooked on the outside, not rested and the plate was thrown together. The sauce (another £2.49!) was essentially out of a packet (Colemans I would have at a guess). The steak was chewy and fatty, not what you expect from a sirloin at nearly £20 each. The only cider they had was out of a can, which wasn’t great either. You expect at least a draught at a pub. When we went to pay we commented to the member of staff that it wasn’t the best steak, it wasn’t great. They said and I quote “at least you ate”. If wanted to just eat, I’d have gone to McDonalds! Overall, we were left disappointed and wouldn’t recommend this place. At best, the steak was a £10 steak and that’s probably pushing it.

Terrible service and the food was average at best. Such a shame as the establishment was pleasant. The waitress who served us had terrible customer service and clearly did not want to be there. It wasn’t only our table with poor service it was the surrounding tables also. The food was slightly overpriced however this wouldn’t have been a problem if the service was adequate.

Me and a lot of friends came up to gretna for my friends wedding.
We went in the Gretna inn on friday and from the beginning we was welcomed by friendly staff.
We all had a great time with great food and drink.
On the Saturday we spent most of the day in the Grena inn for the wedding.
Same again, everything was great.
Same staff doing long hours but still very happy to be there with us.
We will definitely be coming up again when the weather is better.
A big thank you to Adele and Del for the great hospitality all weekend.

Very easy to find with adequate parking.Inside its a fairly basic pub but we did get a warm welcome.Only wanted a sandwich which were both very freshand well filled.Despite being the middle of the day had run out of brown bread. Overall we would stop there again either for a snack or a meal as the menu looked fine and prices good.

We popped in to The Gretna Inn for a quick lunch with our puppy and our friends, while visiting Gretna.

We all opted for a meal deal which included soup, sandwich and chips. The food and service was great, and there is plenty of space outside for dog owners to sit with their furry friends.

Would recommend.

Came here for lunch following a long trip up. Some good choices on the menu however we decided on the ‘shoppers lunch’ which included a tasty chunky vegetable soup of the day, sandwich of choice with a side of chips. Eyes were definitely bigger than our bellies but it was definitely substantial and inexpensive.
Staff were friendly, polite with a nice table service manner adhering to the current Covid rules. Would eat here again and would make a detour off the motorway purposely to eat here - there’s also plenty of parking as it’s opposite the Gretna shopping outlet.
