Impressive and poignant

We visited here on a very wet day in September. The mausoleum is beautiful, in the back of the churchyard. It is very well maintained and recently refurbished. A most fitting tribute to a Rabbie Burns.
Like other reviewers we were touched by the other headstones, in particular the tribute to 420 souls lost to Cholera in 1832.

Lovely Mausoleum

Lovely monument to Robert Burns in a setting of huge headstones around the rest of the church yard. Interesting to have a walk through and read some of them.

Really well looked after.

Historic churchyard
Aug 2020 • Solo
This churchyard is only a short walk from Burns House and is worth a visit. It is full of huge and elaborate headstones some dating back around 300 years including a communal grave of the 420 victims of the 1832 Cholera epidemic. The large and recently restored Mausoleum is the principle attraction and has an information board for visitors.

Humbled experience
Aug 2020 • Couples
As admirers of Burns’ work, we found it humbling to visit both the mausoleum and his original grave plot. The churchyard is very well maintained and we took time to walk around.

Impressive and Interesting

I visited on a beautiful sunny afternoon. The mausoleum is impressive and the surrounding cemetery offers some other interesting graves and memorials. If you like Burns or if you like cemeteries, this is a good place to visit. There is a large free public car park nearby and Burns House museum is also nearby.

I really liked traveling here and if you are interested in history I would definitely visit here. Some of the tombs are very old and I was able to take a lot of cool pictures.
