Old and comforting

Overall rating is subjective - and as a lifelong Queens fan, clearly I love Palmerston Park! It's old, it's dirty, yes it's in desperate need of renovation - but it is old, traditional and very quirky. Due to the modernization of other grounds, Palmerston now boasts not only the tallest free standing flood lights in Scotland, but also the largest covered terracing! Take it all in on match day where the Scotch Pies will not disappoint (even if the football might!)

Queen of the South have always played their home matches here since 1919, when the team was founded. The stadium features two stands opposite each other along the touchline and standing areas behind the goals, and has a capacity of around 8700. If you are a fan of QoS or just like visiting football grounds then this is a must. The ground is a good 15 mins walk from Dumfries railway station.
