The staff really made this visit, from the gentleman who greeted us at the entrance, through the lady in the shop to the two tour guides ( one in training and doing an excellent job). They were so friendly, pleasant, helpful and seemed to take a real pride in the house. The guides in particular were very knowledgable and managed... More

Went for a walk and kids had fun at the play park. Staff were very kind and friendly. The chap at the entrance was very informative and friendly as was the lady in the gift shop who was also very warm and welcoming. Many thanks to all for an enjoyable visit.

A good day out on a day in Selkirk. The tour round the house was informative and engaging for the whole family. The grounds are lovely with some nice short walks and the adventure playground was a hit.

Enjoyed a couple of visits with a big family group during a long weekend holiday nearby. Good outdoor play area but the equipment needs some attention and maintenance as a couple of items were faulted which concerned us. The interior play from is only suitable for 10 kids maximum and the acoustics are terrible making it enjoyable to watch the... More

We'd tried to visit the house earlier in the year, but the opening hours are pretty restrictive, so I'd strongly advise that opening hours are checked in advance. Lunch was OK, my parents enjoyed the soup but my daughter and I found it bland. Sandwiches and paninis were simple but tasty, and service was friendly and efficient. The coffee and... More

Visited here with the dogs to do the Duchess Drive walk as we were staying quite near. The weather wasn't great when we arrived, spitting on with rain when we set off. Two mile into the seven mile walk the heavens opened, by the end our weatherproof clothing didn't stand a chance and we were soaking. Nice route and some... More

We have had an annual family yearly pass for Bowhill for the past 7 years and really enjoy the grounds and house. My low rating is based on our recent experience. We drove for almost two hours for the 'Neverland weekend' with our 7 year old son. He was dressed up as a 'Lost boy' and went into the bow... More

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are disappointed that we have not lived up to your expectations and we aim to rectify this. We decided at the last minute that it would be nice for every child who had dressed up to get something as we didn’t want anyone to be disappointed, this obviously backfired... More

Guided tours only, but well worth a visit. Restricted opening times, better if you phone ahead, especially if you travel from farther away. House itself is nothing special from the outside, but once you've entered! Wow! Really beautiful, guide is very professional and speaks clear, so much information yet he managed to explain most of it. Don't miss it!

We went there for a walk around the estate. The area is peaceful and scenic. There is a path around a loch that makes for an easy walk. Good place to walk your dog. However they do require to have your dog on lead.
