Brilliant views over oban bay..met numerous travellers from different countries. It's a steep climb if you are walking so take the car if you are not fully fit

Very curious structure but the best is the views of Oban you can get from there, it is really worth it.

A fairly long winding walk up from the town of Oban. Interesting and unusual "tower". very god views of the town and bay.

We drove to the car park at McCaig's Tower as it is located on a steep hill. The views from McCaigs Tower are amazing and definitely worth visiting when in Oban

Although it's a bit of a steep trek up the hill to get there on foot (10 mins or so from town), the views from the tower (looks a bit like the Coliseum) are outstanding and well worth the effort. You can see the town below, harbour, yachts and surrounding islands on a clear day. Cracking stuff!

Only ever been to the tower by car so don't know if there is access by public transport, however, if you are fit it's a relatively easy stroll from town. It's a great spot to look over the town and the sunsets are incredible.

I was very lucky to be here during the Bon fire night to see the beautiful night view of the town. It's a great place to take photos and to relax.

No idea what it is or what it was going to be although locals willing to tell you what it is. Some say tower others say folly. Your choice.

We had a nice wee wander around McCaigs tower earlier this week and it's a cracking old folly built to keep the trade alive and hands busy during quiet times
