I loved exploring the displays Which are great if you enjoy the memorabilia of WW1 and 2 primarily. Some fascinating facts and lovely welcoming men to explain things to you.

An interesting little museum that works with donations and voluntery workers. Such a nice staff I met there! :) Lots of information of war and life on islands and in Oban. Plenty of old photos.

Recommended museum that is lovingly kept by volunteers who are very welcoming and informative. Great insight into wartime in the area and a very decent tribute to those who served. Very interesting to learn about Oban's role during WW2 and a good range of exhibits. The museum is easy to find off the harbour and more comprehensive than it seems... More

Small but interesting museum. I along with my husband enjoyed finding out about the different aspects of the war and the past in Oban. But dont think my two grandaughters found it as interesting. I think that its more suited for slightly older kids.

Oban played and extensive role in supporting the United Kingdom's war efforts during the second world war, and to this day continues to send its sons and daughters on military ventures around the world. Museum staff were a couple of knowledgeable vets who could tell stories and point out interesting features of the area and its people.

A very interesting place, far larger than it looks from the outside. My husband being the expert assured me it was well worth all the time he spent in there.
