Not just a beautiful garden
Jun 2021 • Family
This garden is wonderfully tended and a not to be missed attraction. It has something for everyone, beautiful and unusual plants, artwork and cute little fairy doors for the kids to find. A little hidden gem♥️

Talented artist and great to work with
Jun 2021
I commissioned Christine (who has a gallery in the garden) to do a painting of my brother and now-wife’s wedding location at Crear (Kintyre peninsula) as a wedding gift. Having never been to the location, I was slightly unsure of what I wanted in the painting but Christine was so helpful in advising on the composition. She was always quick to reply to my emails and clearly gave it a lot of thought. The final painting beautifully captured the place - my brother and wife were thrilled and recognised the location immediately.

Christine was so easy to work with and gave such helpful suggestions, not to mention producing a beautiful painting!

Thank you Christine x

Visit to An Ceardach garden
Jun 2021 • Couples
This a treat for all garden lovers. Stunningly beautiful with a glorious array of rhododendron, trees and flowers, ponds and fascinating garden ornaments made by the owners. The setting is equally enchanting, overlooking the sea. The charming owners explained how they created the garden from scratch over 25 years and did all the work themselves. They have photographs showing what it was like originally and you can see it's a real labour of love! Not only is it beautiful but Christine's artistic and creative talents are clearly visible. As a bonus she has a display of her paintings which can be purchased. The owners were happy for us to wander at will and happy to answer questions. All donations for entry go to local charities.

Fantastic fairy tale garden well worth exploring!
Aug 2019 • Family
We went there today (4 adults, 3 teenagers) and spent an hour exploring this wonderful garden. The owners were not there but we left a generous donation and hope to return some time to meet the couple who have done such a wonderful job creating this peaceful, beautiful garden with so many wee surprises to discover along the various paths that weave through it.

Excellent garden for a visit
Aug 2018 • Couples
We were met by the owner and he explained clearly how their beautiful garden had been developed. The amazing backdrop of the Kilbrannan Sound and Arran made for a very spectacular visit. Really worth visiting. You are asked to make a donation but you will be happy to make one once you have looked round.

Idyllic Garden
Aug 2018 • Family
We visited this beautiful garden on a rainy day in August. The owners were very friendly and helpful giving us a brief history of the property and lending us some umbrellas!

The large, impeccably kept garden has lots to discover including fairy doors, beautiful flowers and a stunning water feature. We also got to view the owners artwork and purchase some pictures of the garden.

Well worth a visit!

Beautiful and Peaceful Garden
Aug 2018 • Family
We visited the gardens in the morning and were met by the owners who explained the history of the garden. To discover this beautiful sanctuary had been built and planted by themselves made the surroundings even more incredible.

They suggested we started the tour of the gardens by making our way back up the drive to the old road on the left which is grassed over and walk up that to the top of the garden and then make our way down following the paths. Brilliant advice, as it lets you take in not just a beautifully laid out garden, but the views are amazing.

There are lots of little fairy doors to find; great fun for the little ones. We had a not quite 2 year old with us, and she just loved looking for and finding the fairy doors and opening them to see if there were any surprises behind them.

As we made our way round the garden, there were surprises round every corner and beautifully laid out plants that teased all the senses. We had to keep our eyes peeled in case we missed anything.

The couple have a walled vegetable garden, where the grow vegetables, herbs and fruit. The way it has been planted in such a small space is inspiring even for those that don't have a large garden.

The real beauty of this garden is the fact that it has been planted and lovingly cared for by the people living at the premises and their knowledge of the garden and surrounding area adds to the experience of a visit.

I have been to a lot of gardens round the country and I would have to say that these gardens and there layout are among the best if not the best I have visited. Even some of the Botanic Gardens could learn something from the way this garden is presented.

If you are in Campbeltown or on the Kintyre Peninsular for a holiday, I would suggest this is a top of the list of places to visit.

Exquisite gardens
Jul 2018 • Family
I visited this beautiful garden with my grandchildren last week and was completely blown away by its beauty and charm. Unfortunately, it was only a very brief visit but I will be back as soon as possible to explore in more detail. This garden has to be one Kintyre's greatest treasures.

Loved it
Jul 2018 • Friends
Visited early July with my mother and friends. It is quite steep so my mum only did part of the garden although I think most people could manage with a stick if able to walk. Some amazing landscaping and features all done by hand by the very pleasant retired couple over more than 20 years. Quite an inspiration and well worth the couple of hours there. They ask for a donation which goes to local good causes.
