Royal Aberdeen is the quintessential Scottish Links golf course, which is what you'd expect from the 5th oldest golf course in the world. As good as any of the St. Andrews courses. A great test of golf, but fair. Excellent service and conditions. HIGHLY recommended!

Loved it, thats all I can say. Having played Royal Dornoch / Nairn / Trump International, Royal Aberdeen was definitely my favourite. Carved from the land among the dunes, Royal Aberdeen is a tough challenge with narrow fairways, pot bunkers and undulating greens. Fantastic layout designed in 1780 makes it the 6th oldest course in the world. A must visit... More

An amazing links course, a must play if you are in the Aberdeen area. The front nine are quite a test. Narrow fairways, humps that feed the ball off the fairways and strong winds. Nicely set along the bay of Aberdeen. Course is in a top shape. Rather pricey, if you compare to Murcar which is just next door you... More

Played in april 2015, last day of shoulder season so got the greenfee at a reduction, with blue skies and a small breeze. The hospitality of the staff and pro is great, it was easy to feel welcome. I took a caddie (recommended) and took out on the course after a quick warmup. The quality of the finish on the... More

Hands down one of the hardest links courses in the land, especially if the elements come into play. Played in very testing conditions - driving rain and 50mph gusts - an absolute test and beast. Design wise, a treat and in excellent condition. Should be on the Open rota if infrastructure were there. Staff was very kind and accommodating.

There is no doubt that the hype surrounding this course is worthwhile - the first nine are up there with the best links I've played. It's challenging but playable if you keep the ball on the straight and narrow. The problem is that its magnificence is no secret. Four ball follow four ball often with caddies and this can lead... Played at Royal Aberdeen on Friday. Course in top condition with probably the best outward nine holes in links golf. Fantastic facilities. A must play

The green tees have a 141 slope. If you're above a 12 and it's windy, forget about this monster! They don't have any facilities to speak of for visitors.

A top notch golf course. By far the best course in the NE of Scotland, including the new Trump one at Menie, which is not in the same league. Compares very favourably with St George's at Sandwich. A great challenge.

It'd been quite a while since my last visit, but with my memory refreshed, the front nine IS one of the best front nines in links golf. Only by comparison does the back nine suffer - it's still darn good. Royal Aberdeen is a must for any golf trip to northern Scotland! M
