Interesting castle set in beautiful gardens. The guide was clear and informative. The views from the top quite stunning. It may not be suitable for those with mobility `issues'. A small shop in the basement but not a good choice of refreshments. We'd recommend the Meet Again Tea Rooms in nearby Lumphanan if castle goers are in search of a... More

Beautiful castle in the most beautiful setting. Tour was well organized with a very knowledgable guide. Castle inspired Walt Disney for his design.

Tucked away in the rolling Aberdeenshire countryside, the pink walls of Craigievar lend a wonderful fairytale aspect to this castle. Reopened after major conservation work in 2010, the castle still has no electricity, so is best visited on a fine day as some of the rooms can be quite dark. Visits to the castle are by organised tours only which... More

What a delight to visit a National Trust property left in the way the family lived in it. No chintz to be seen. Superb plaster ceilings, The guided tour gave us a very good account of the family history, And it was a particular delight to be shown the entire House to the very top. As ever, with theScottish National... More

Enjoyed a great visit here today. All tours are guided which means it's even better as the guide seems knowledgeable and told us about a bit of its history. There are some awesome artifacts from 1600's and some of the decor apparently were from original design. Over 500 year of history! There is no cafe, however, there is a small... More

Vince well kept gardens, with different wild life scurrying and flapping about. The castle it's self (still lived in within living history) great to explore. Plenty of great stuff to read up on in the rooms and exciting incite to life within late and early historic Times

Really beautiful castle, as if from a fairy tale. Had a great day out and all staff we encountered were friendly and knowledgable.

Lovely castle from the outside and extremely interesting interior with lots of history about the house. Our guide (Paul) was very interesting. The tour takes about an hour and a half I would say and you be prepared for steep narrow spiral staircases throughout. Even on a thoroughly wet July day the castle visit was memorable.

Great wee castle with a lot of history. Guided tours only due to the small rooms and quirky stairs (not really accessible if you have a walking impairment). This was not a stuffy tour, it was very informative and fun, we were led by a young, dark haired girl who was fantastic and enthusiastic. 90 minutes well spent. There are... More
