Large grand building that is home to a Library. Great library services and very pleasant spaces to browse and read. Children's library section area is pretty and staff are friendly and encouraging. Often they hold summer workshops and storytelling for children.

Aberdeen Central Library not only has Adults' and separate Childrens' lending services, but also has a Media Centre that offers Music CDs, DVDs, computer access and an Arts Equipment loan service that includes cameras, laptops, digital projectors and musical instruments. A great resource for the city.

This is a great City Library trying to do it's best with an old building and a spendthrift Council. They have updated their offerings and have a strong physical and on-line presence. They could do so much more if they had a new build library fit fro the 21st century. Some of the desk staff could do with some customer... More

It's a functional library, quite elegant on the outside but it's not much of a tourist destination. There's a good range of books, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. It's an ideal place to study, browse books or just relax and read. I would say it would be nice to have somewhere more comfortable to sit. There are a few... More

The central library is very functional. Everyone is welcome here and the staff are very professional in their dealing with the diversity of their various users. They have some really cool facilities such as free internet access,(2 hours per day), free scanning facilities and printing(Only 20p per copy for a4 or a3 print out!) On mondays and wednesdays, they are... More

I love libraries, and have been coming here for nearly 50 years. It has a good selection of books, magazines, cds, dvds etc. The reading room is generally peaceful and I can spend hours there leafing through newspapers and magazines. Recently they installed automatic machines for borrowing and returning books, but frankly they can take longer than the old way... More

This is a good, well-stocked library with some great facilities. The staff are helpful and there is a good range of books as well as journals and research materials. Next door the media and adult learning sections have lots of dvds, a cafe and an internet cafe. There is also a good working area where you can sit at a... More
