I have done this walk many times not all in one go! There is a seat near Gortans farm with a make shift hand holding what could be for a tea light also a pot that people put money in. I have never found out what this is for. No one seems to know! St Blanes church is particularly beautiful... More

What a fantastic walk with amazing veiws of beautiful Bute and beyond . It is tough in places we walked the loop at Kilchattan Bay then onto Port Bannatyne about 22miles great but not for the faint hearted

The views are spectacular, the wildlife is stunnung (take binoculars so you dont miss anything) On a sunny day this is a perfect way to spend your time. If you time it with low tide the kids could spend hours in the rock pools. Easy walking on flat surfaces

This is a 30 mile walk which actually avoids Bute's towns so you will end up walking much further if you take side trips to visit other places such as Port Bannatyne and the Ettrick tearooms. The first stage is the hardest around the coast. Also we were lucky to have the wind behind us which made the walk more... More

My husband and I decided to do the whole Island walk in one day. We chose a nice day weather wise and done it in 10 hrs. Was a very long walk for us but we both did enjoy it. Would have enjoyed it even better if we had done it over two days because the first half that we... More

I took one of the shortest routes- a circular route that starts in Kilchattan Bay, ~7 km. It was mid-September and in some places the land was muddy- robust shoes are a must. The views were magnificent! Walking in this calm nature, enjoying different types of landscape and some grazing animals here and there was very relaxing and fulfilling. There... More
