We just got a little taste of the splendour of Loch Lomond on a day trip from Glasgow. It is the breathtaking views that made us decide to return and tour the area for at least 7days the surrounding towns are just full of character so next time we will drive the region and enjoy the amazing walking tracks(on foot)... I was on a group tour and this was one of our excursions. We went on a boat tour of Loch Lomond. The scenery was beautiful and the Loch was very serene. Lots of beautiful scenery for taking pictures. The captain of the boat gave a history of the Loch and it was very informative. I highly recommend Loch Lomond... More

If you have one day free at your visit in Edinburgh or Glasgow take an one day tour to Loch Lomond and Sterling Castle. You will enjoy history and nature in one trip. The lake is so beautiful with its small islands and the forest around it! And the castle is so nice, well preserved and full of stories! Don't... More

During a visit to Balloch on the southern end of Loch Lomond we heard about Duncryne Hill, an extinct volcanic cone a few mile east of town just south of eastbound A811 (towards Stirling). Once you see the hill to your right (it is pretty distinct), keep an eye out for Duncryne Road-easy to miss because it is a narrow... More

We did a little cruise on Loch Lomond and enjoyed the view. The weather was fine with a clear sky so the view was fantastic. Beside the view and some background info from the captain, there was not that much to see but that's ok for us.

A very spectacular loch. Took a boat cruise in cold weather- view was still stunning in spite of the weather. The villages dotted at the sides were pretty. The boat cruise itself was awesome and was the most memorable highlight of my visit to Scotland- in terms of scenery- in early 2007.

As part of our road trip from Edinburgh to the Isle of Skye, Loch Lomond lake was a great addition of a beautiful sight. Ducks coming out to get fed, some very cozy places to get a coffee and relax. You can drive around the lake if you wish but if you want to explore more you need to go... More

Loch Lomond is absolutely stunning! We went on a two hour boat tour of the Loch. It was lovely seeing Ben Lomond, the various golf courses, the castle and the villages from the boat! We spent time in Balloch by the Loch and the town was lovely. The picture perfect Scottish experience!
