Millitary square now a public space, memorial to sailors
Jun 2018 • Couples
We saw this as we walked along the peace bridge back to the train station. It is an old army barracks which is being used in a variety of ways. We were particularly taken by the beautiful memorial to the sailors

ZZZ in the morning - might perk up after that

We walked to Ebrington Square across the Peace Bridge, knowing just a little about its former (and divisive) role as a military base/parade ground. The parade ground is still there as a broad area of open space and the views across the River Foyle are excellent. But at about 11 am when we visited it was also deadly quiet - no activity whatsoever and we couldn't see signs of the cafes or brewery that now exist at the site.

Ebrington Square
May 2015 • Couples
Ebrington Square is a history-drenched part of the historic city of Derry. Formerly a military square and barracks, it is currently transforming itself into a hub for Derry's creative, cultural and hospitality industries.

Summertime sees Ebrington hosting international music festivals and October sees the square booming with Halloween fun and attractions. Derry has Europe's most popular Halloween Festival and it lasts a week!

Ebrington Square is also the entrance point to Derry's fabulous Peace Bridge and that is another unmissable attraction. Visitors in May will also be able to catch Derry's annual Jazz Festival.

Welcome to Ebrington Square. Welcome to Music City. Welcome to Derry.

The place to visit
Jan 2016 • Couples
This is my 3rd visit to Ollies and I have to say it is FABULOUS. If you haven't been, its well worth a visit. Spacious, immaculately clean, very friendly staff, delicious food, great service and not in your face and the most relaxed atmosphere. We have been in for breakfast today and I have to say A*. Thank you and see you Sunday for lunch.

Beautiful transformation of former Army Barracks
Sep 2015 • Family
Went to a car show at this and it was the perfect venue for something like this. They have done a great job with this site and it looks really well with fantastic views of the city. You can access the Peace Bridge from here and walk along the banks of the Foyle river if you wish. Access from the Limavady Road.

Christmas market.
Went over to Ebrington Square with family to visit Christmas market. Lots of food stalls and some beer tents as well. Fair ground rides and carousel. Enjoyed the few hours we spent there. Will be going back again, minus the children, to sample the beer tents. Will update later.

Public Space, on former Army Barracks
Aug 2013 • Friends
This Square was opened on 14th Feb 2012, and it was built on a former army parade ground. It's on the Waterside of Derry, and it's connected to the Bogside by the Peace Bridge. A lot of concerts are held there, and at the moment, it's hosting a lot of events during the city's time as the UK City of Culture in 2013. During my visit, the Fleadh was in full swing, and the place was hopping.
