Walking the streets in Free Derry on the Bogside, the walls of the homes have portraits of people who protested, died, were jailed or otherwise participated in the several Risings.

The artists have created thought provoking artwork that cannot help move you. IOt also makes you question your knowledge and emotions regarding the issues of this town.

Hearing the stories of this trying time in Ireland's history was brought out in these murals. It would be hard to live here and go by them w/o remembering these bad times.

Each mural tells a story and they stories that are an important part of this cities history. Quite confronting in many ways and just brings it home that there are several parts to the conflicts that wracked this area over many years.

Some stunning murals on buildings depict the past and hope for peace in the future. Worth a walking stroll along that street.

We spent some time wandering Derry and finding these incredible murals. They are works of art and a moving reminder of the past. I was really impressed by them and it was a nice afternoon walking around Derry.

We visited all of the Bogside murals. The best is that on the far west of a 14 year-old girl killed accidentally by the British. She is in her school uniform and innocent. A broken AK-47 is down one side of the mural while a...More

Quite remarkable how the people have used their art to tell their story and support their position. It's easy to spend quite some time wandering around the many pieces of art.
