I read that this was a scenic journey, and I sort of waited for it to get beautiful for a while...and then it was STUNNING. Worth the extra few dollars to take the train (as opposed to a bus) for this journey.

Another journey by train from Londonderry to Colerain today but still unable to see the beauty others have seen and I am very proud of our wonderful scenery in Northern Ireland. Today was grey and dismal but even in good weather it just looks like a lot of mud flats, must contact Michael Palin to see if he can put... More

And it's not just me saying that. It's none other than the intrepid, former conservative MP, Mr. michael Portillo. The train departs from the Waterside station in Duke Street, site of the famous anti- internment rally, led by internationally known MPs John Hume, Ivan Cooper and Eddie McAteer. When they reached the West end of the bridge they were attacked... More

It may be a slow train journey, but life's too fast, just sit back, look out the window and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Whether it's looking out at the bay or at the inland cliffs, you will enjoy it

This is a must if travelling into city if you have time. It's not the quickest nor is it the fastest but the slow train passing some of the best view you will see on any train journey. It is truly wonderful when passing the fields and beaches. When I was younger the journey was so magical and to this... More

I used the train everyday for 3 weeks to go to Belfast. I enjoyed the journey most of the time except at weekends - the train was overcrowded and I had to stand most of the way from Belfast to Coleraine. There is limited parking at the Derry station and very few facilities - would need an upgrade. On the... More

Must-do activity in the North West. Breathtaking journey along the banks of Lough Foyle, past the beautiful beaches and threw the tunnels near Downhill. Take the train all the way to Portrush if you can!!

Used this service with my husband travelling from Belfast to Derry .The journey takes over two hours and I was surprised to find that there is no meal/beverage service so anyone travelling needs to be prepared for this .Possibly the positive side to this was that the carriages were extremely clean unlike the Enterprise the cross border train which we... Will try and keep this brief ..Train itself and journey is excellent .Journey fast and train very clean and tidy . Prices are quite good with day returns etc . Where it falls down for me is in two areas .Staff unfriendly and unhelpful .They can barely speak at the ticket kiosk .Waiting outside this guy comes up and asks... More
