Really cool to finally see a lot of the places where the big events happened in Derry. Surreal to be in the place where Bloody Sunday happened.

I went on a Yellow Coat tour with Garvin a week ago and it was one of the highlights of travelling around the whole of Ireland. Garvin was energetic, passionate and full to the brim with interesting information about his city. He is a real asset to the City Tours (yellow coats) company and the tour itself is phenomenal value... More

I'm a frequent visitor to Derry all my life but had never actually walked the walls before so decided to take the tour with Martin Mccrossan tours yesterday. I suppose for £4 you get what you pay for but I have to say I was disappointed. Our guide was pleasant enough and threw in some historical information but unfortunately for... More

If you visit Derry do the walking tour. You get the insight you need to understand the history of Derry and Northern Ireland. It was clear, personal, informative and very interesting - you just have to get used to the accent :) We were with Dermid (don't know if spelling is right), he also gave a good tip for dinner.

We did the walking tour of the city walls. After meeting the tour guide (dressed in a yellow coat and hat) near the entrance to the Foyleside shopping centre, we began the tour infront of the Ferryquay gate. The tour lasted over an hour and cost just £4. It was a very interesting and non biased history lesson told by... More

Last week I joined a Walking Tour with Garvin as guide. I could really feel that this city and its history is of highest importance to him. He also added some personal stories which created a direct bond and touched me personally. I never joined such an interesting tour before and could not stop listening to Garvin because he had... No waffle on these tours. The trip round the city walls is the cost effective way to get your bearings and learn the background to what is and - unfortunately on occasions - still is the tragic story of Derry. Our guide was excellent and provided all the information to come to your conclusions as to how events 300 years... More
