Pleasant walk takes you past Boom Hall
Jun 2019 • Couples
Built near the point where the boom was anchored during the Siege of Derry this former Manor House is in a poor state. There’s a pleasant walk past what appears to be rescued Donkeys and Horses in some fields then you find yourself at Boom Hall. Apparently Derry City council have some plans for this building: time will tell. Walk a little further on and, coming under the Foyle Bridge you’ll find the trail / pathway continues. Not a bad walk at all.

It is what it is, the ruin of an old country manor

Boom Hall has an interesting history within Derry, not somewhere i would go out of my way to view, but interesting none the less.

As I live close to this area I would walk my dog past Boom Hall often, it is a nice walk however it is supposed to be a landmark in Derry and a part of derrys history and it is surrounded by metal cages to stop enter which is understandable due to stability problems but it is very unsightly. The building should be up kept.

For anyone not familiar with Boom Hall... Its an old ruin, its not a functioning building, nor can it be accessed by the public as it may not be structurally sound, but the history of the building and the land it sits on gives it that something different the makes you want to go back to it after you've been once

Country Manor failed by local council
This could be an excellent spot for a stop off. Unfortunately the property is now derelict/dilapidated and needs some significant restoration work. Not worth a visit in its current condition!

Creepy old shell of an aristocratic house

Wouldn't bother going to see this, as it is not really a tourist attraction. It's isolated and spooky and it would give you the creeps.
