The Percy French Restaurant is perfectly located at the entrance to the Slieve Donard Hotel. Great views, a friendly ambience, good service and pleasant food. A visit is strongly recommended.

We called in for a birthday meal for one of the party. Four of us including a child of 6. We said we would go for the meal deal - 2 courses for £18. We were given menus and sat outside. The first waitress gave us the wrong menu - we had to adjust our order. Waited 15 minutes for... More

What a disappointment - called in for a drink and a cup of tea. Drink fine but asking for a biscuit with the cup of tea? Impossible. A dessert was offered but a biscuit was not possible. Such a disappointment for an eating and drinking place attached to a four star hotel. Service was slow but the decor and surroundings... More

The food is modern Irish. Fish and chips were quite good, and very fresh. The restaurant has great views, and is adjoining the historic Slieve Donard resort.

Went for lunch as we knew we could sit outside and enjoy the fabulous view! We were 'greeted' by a waitress who was devoid of facial expression, made no eye contact and very little communication effort. The lunch was acceptable though to add chicken to a small Caesar Salad at a cost of £1 and to get 2 VERY small... More

Standard fare - nothing special but food served was good as was service. Good parking and a scenic location overlooking the sea. Tables outside for use in good weather. Pretty pricey for what you get.

A great place to take shelter from the storm. Big spacious and attractive floor area with a selection of seats and sofas. This is a popular venue with both locals and day trippers. Despite a lot of floor staff service was chaotic and orders were slow. My friend and I ordered a Club Sandwich each ( @ just under £10... More

Situated in Newcastle at the entrance to Slieve Donard Hotel. There is a warm open fire to welcome you. Relaxed seating to the left and a more formal area to the rear. Great views across Newcastle bay. The food is well prepared and filling. Can be a little overpriced for what you get. Staff are generally attentive. If in the... More
