Really enjoyed the seafood chowder in the Lighthouse Lounge on our first night at Slieve Donard, the views are stunning from the lounge overlooking the Irish Sea, it has a very good ambiance and the staff were attentive. On the second day we tried out the Oak Bar in the hotel and ordered the seafood platter for 2, it was... More

Slieve Donard is an incredible climb, not for the light hearted. The views at the top are fantastic! Wear good trainers or walking boots as can be slippy and it's rather cold at the top! I've done this twice and won't be the last

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Slieve Donard Hotel with a weekend stay. It was our first time staying there. The hotel and its grounds are simply beautiful. The room was fine (except for 1 issue - see below), and the breakfast was excellent. In particular, I would like to congraulate the hotel on the very... More

Started out just before seven in the morning as two couples. We started in Donard park in Newcastle and went up beside the stream and past the ice house. The weather was clear but windy and the top of the hill was shrouded in cloud - but clear below the saddle (where you get to the Mourne wall). We made... More

The Slieve Donars is a nice hotel with a lovely pool, fitness facility, and spa. It is right next to Royal County Down and the coast which makes it a nice hotel if you are planning on going to either . The hotel is just off in terms of service. I had to ask to have a light replaced as... More

The Slieve Donard Hotel and Spa is very definitely upmarket. For a second year in August I very much enjoyed my stay. The viewsare stunning and there is easy access to many faciities.

Starting From nice Promenade in Newcastle, Northern Ireland I was going up the Mourn Mountains through beautiful Slieve Donard Park. Waterfalls and forest looks fantastic, Ancient Ice House on the top is very unusual and interesting structure.

This mountain took us 2 hours to get up, and 2 hours down. It was very challenging and we're fairly fit but there were families with kids doing it as well so it is do-able! We took a picnic to have up the top whilst looking at the view but unfortunately the cloud came in as we were doing the... More
