Stunning views of the glorious local countryside with great walk and cycle tracks. Bikes for all ages can be hired on site. There's a lovely Cafe there too. Kids will love the maze... though it could take a while to find your way out :) Fantastic place for all the family

Visited this great forest park for a cycle around the lake with my wife and kids. It's about 2 miles with lots of stop off points to take a minute to enjoy the scenery. It's completely flat so suitable for all the family to cycle it themselves. We had a coffee in the cafe and then headed for the Peace... More

We walked the Newcastle Way which starts in Newcastle, goes northwards along the shore, then in and along to Castlewellan. That was enough for day 1, but got the bus back to resume and it starts with a walk around the forest park. We had a lovely walk. The old beeches (and many other old trees) were wonderful (we didn't... More

The maze is excellent... It really is a good spot and kept us entertained for about an hours. It's about 5 feet high at the moment and made of Castlewellan Golds. This is a beautiful part of Co Down and well worth a visit.

There was a 1000 acres to roam in. And a beautiful lake. There were canoes and boat for kids. Others were cycling. The rest of us either admired the scenery or walked. One day is not enough. No wonder people camp here
