Mission Santa!
This was one of the best Christmas ‘experiences’ we have done. The setup was fabulous and the kids absolutely loved it. Santa was most definitely the ‘real Santa’ as he was so kind and had all the time in the world to chat to us when we went into see him and get our photograph. Such an amazing touch him talking to the children on screen and knowing ALL about them!! Magical! Staff throughout the visit were friendly and made it so special and magical for our kids. Highly recommend!

Lived in NI all my life and had never been, so on the spur of the moment made a visit to the Planetarium a reason to go to Armagh. We picked the Capcom show. I'm old enough to remember the Apollo missions and it brought back so many memories. I actually cried. And afterwards I got to smell a meteorite. Staff were really friendly - covid precautions excellent. Will be back.

Fun and educational day out! Really enjoyed our trip to the Armagh planetarium. Excellent dome show (The Solar System) with knowledgeable presenter. Great interactive museum area. Thanks to the helpful staff member who explained the interactive universe table top game.

First of all the staff at the gift section were so pleasant and friendly and the little tokens they gave our 2 Daughters left such a positive image of the place on us all. Well done to the staff for such friendliness throughout.

There is plenty of exhibits on display to interest people of all ages and there's some displays that are really engaging and depending on the weather they usually do some workshops too.

The highlight for us all was definitely the dome show. I can see why some would book a couple of shows during their visit. An informative spectacle on display.

We enjoyed our visit. We took in 2 dome shows, one on the solar system and one on the universe. The solar system show was led by a live presenter and she was excellent. The show on the universe was voiced over and to be honest is felt not as good.

The museum section has had a revamp and it is much more kiddie friendly. The interactive displays are great. We were disappointed though as my child couldn't build a rocket as it was just too busy and we couldn't socially distance. Kids jumped in front of us and we couldnt get a table.

We walked around the AstroPark. We had previously done a tour a few years ago so it was nice to have another look.

All in all it is a good day out, we just happened to be there on a busy day.

I've visited the Planetarium over a number of years and usually enjoy the experience, I'm not sure how many Global planetarium's that have a wonderful overhead 360 degree display with static front non reclinable seating. Although they are new have now replaced the previous wonderful reclining versions. This seems to lack any basic appreciation for anyone trying to watch an overhead display. This apparent absence of empathy or understanding of this unique attraction that may be spoiled for a generation by the distinctive neck ache that follows craning at the roof top screen from a bolt upright position for 25 minutes is not only disappointing but reflects badly on an other wise well interpreted exhibition with friendly staff and great facilities . . (top tip , bring a neck support pillow that you use on airplanes it might provide some protection from the discomfort that's probably globally now unique to Northern Irelands only planetarium show ).

Had a great time. We booked in for the 2 o clock show. We arrived a bit early and we were given time before and after the show to go around all the exhibits on the origins of the observatory, equipment used there originally and up to the present day, planets, galaxies, black holes, you name it, they cover it in the exhibitions. Informative and plenty of interactive pieces showing each planet and lots more. We had no kids with us but there were workshops on building rockets and games and other child orientated activities.
We were brought into an amazing dome theatre that had close to luxurious seating. We were socially distant. They had some technical difficulties and the show we were due to see didn’t start but Nick wasn’t long in setting up the plan B show Passport to the universe narrated by Tom Hanks and treating us to a trip on the Astro rollercoaster. This was excellent and if it’s a plan B, the original show must have been amazing.
We were offered a refund of the show but did not take it because of how good the whole experience was.
The grounds outside have a scale model of the solar system in the ‘Astro Park’ and the scale of the universe is demonstrated with the hyper cube. There was lots more to see but we ran out of time.
Excellent visit. Well worth the 5 stars!

About 10 years since we have been here. Well worth a repeat visit, always go for the show as well. As alway love the presentation. Dont miss the disabled places by 2 on the left as you go in. I think they need to provide more disabled spaces. Total 3 near the entrance IMO not enough
