BAC Charity Abseil
Sep 2018 • Friends
Safe to say this will be the first and last time I abseil. However, if it wasn’t for the patient and encouraging instructor I wouldn’t have even been able to do it at all. While I dangled at the edge and tried crawling back in at least 10 times he talked me through the entire experience and didn’t give up on me. Would highly recommend and the instructors have the patience of a saint!

We had a super day here with our Youth group Summer Transition Programme. Andy and James were great with the young people (and the oldies!!) They explained everything clearly and were very patient and encouraging during all our activities. Thanks guys 😊

SANTA'S ADVENTURE TRAIL - Avoid unless you are under 4 years of age!
Dec 2017 • Family
I brought my 7 year old son to this. The advertising leaflets and banner at the entrance to Barnett's Demesne looked great and sounded wonderful. What a disappointment!! This Santa trail is very much geared up for 3 to 4 years old but for any child over this age, it is really bad! Firstly they were greeted by a skinny Mrs Claus (I always pictures Mrs Claus to be portly) who proceeded to call for glitterpants the elf to come and take the kids on an adventure trail through a few trees. The kids were supposed to look for animals (squirrel, bird, mouse etc) and tick them of a list. They were all plastic, my son thought they might've at least been a few real ones. The only good thing was that they got to roast marshmallows by a fire with an elf and few BAC staff. They got 1 marshmallow each (You can get a bag of these in Poundland for £1) and then moved along to see Santa for about 10mins at the end. Santa was quite good but the gifts were not. It was not worth anywhere near £18 per child and £6 per adult. The adults were not even offered a coffee/tea, this was extra!!At the very least we could've been given a hot drink for the price we paid to accompany our child through the "adventure trail" and as for Mrs Claus' candy shop, this was a book shelf with a few boxes of sweets on it, for the adults to pay even more money. Very poor, I hope you take on board these comments for next year, if there is one!!

Disgraceful climbing instructor
Sep 2017
Attended bac on a trip with friends and have always had a fear of heights but it has worsened after this. We walked up the stairs on our way to the tower where we get attached to a harness and jump off and upon reaching the top I realised it was just too high and I didn't want to jump but when I told the instructor this he proceeded to tell me "No you will jump" he then suggested that I take a look down which I did and again told him I wanted to go down to which he told me "We aren't playing any silly games here" which angered me because in NO WAY was I trying to play games with the man (I have a genuine fear of heights) he then edged me on to the platform and for a third time I had to tell him that I didn't want to jump. He finally listened but told me as we walked to the stairs that "having negative thoughts will lead to you having a negative life" which also angered me as he was now telling how my life was going to be because I didn't want to jump off a tower. This should not be the way instructors talk to people who are trying to conquer their fears of heights, in the end I left feeling very annoyed at the way this man had spoken to me and I honestly dread the next adult or child who have a fear of heights and takes part in this activity.

Disorganised
Jun 2017 • Family
My child was here with a school group. I don't know if it was due to the large numbers but children were left out of the groups. The instructor got very cross when these children were put into his group. All of this in front of the children. The archery instructor was incredibly grumpy and shouted at the kids constantly. I watched him with numerous groups of children and he shouted at each group. The children commented on this. This is a great location and great equipment but I would never go back. Absolutely no respect shown by some of the instructors.

Santa Trail
Dec 2016 • Family
Wanted to do something different this year for the kids to see Santa.. I have a 3 year old and 4 month old.. it was fantastic and well worth the money, they didn't rush you around the place, we were there for nearly 2 hours from start to finish. All the family were really lovely and very friendly.. there was a group of us went and everyone loved it.. I hope they do the same thing next year as we would definitely go back.. well done to all involved, it was magical for the children
