A great find on our weekend visit to Belfast
Lovely market! Amazing on a Saturday and Sunday when they have food stalls. So much delicious food available that we couldn’t decide what to have! A massive variety of hot and cold food along with sweet treats. One not to miss if you’re in Belfast for the weekend. In addition, some great art was available for purchase. We wished we had bought a bigger suitcase!!!

    A great visit
We came on a Saturday so it was very busy, but we still managed to find a table and get a good meal. There is a fair wait for the vendors as everything is made fresh, but it’s definitely worthwhile and wasn’t unbearable. The breakfast bap stall near the little seating area was fantastic and definitely worth the long line. The fresh juices and smoothies were also really good. It is more of a goods market than a food market, as at least two-thirds of the stalls were selling souvenirs and homewares.

    Great little gem
This was a great little gem to Belfast. Open all weekend. Plenty of stalls to look at and the aroma of all the food was amazing. Everyone was warm and welcoming . Highly recommend this market. It is indoors thank goodness as it was chucking it down when we were over.

Friendly market with local vibe and attitude
Awesome authentic market catering to both locals and tourists alike. Everyone is up for a chat whether it be about their produce, where you’re from or some little Northern Irelandism that you’re keen to understand. Incredible Tom & Ollie deli, old fashioned fish mongers selling their catch, beautiful displays of the freshest fruit and vegetables - amongst my favourites are the freshly dug carrots and parsnips. Glenn Thompson has some lovely urban sketches of same vegetables and local spots at a stall close by. I have lived in Sydney for 30 years and still remember going to this market with my granny as a child. It’s teaming with Belfast baps and soda farls filled with bacon, sausage and egg. A hearty breakfast that fills you all day. A must on a Friday rain or shine.

    Browsing in St George's
Spent a couple of hours meandering round this lovely artisan market. Plenty of stalls for food, great live music being played, lots of craft stalls offering a variety of either antique or brand new art works. Great place to spend a couple of hours.

I wish I had a market like this locally!
I visited this great market on a Saturday morning. As a foodie, I was very impressed with the food on display- fish, seafood, cheese, breads, chutneys, fruit and veg as well as the cooked food and coffee stalls. As I was travelling light with Ryanair I was only able to pick up some fudge to take home to my step son. Whilst you are at the market, check out the Alec the Goose memorial.

    Wonderful market
Wonderful market that is truly an arts, crafts and street food market. There was so much too see and it wasn’t a tourist trap as people said they see familiar faces there, so we stood out as being visitors. Go hungry!! I’d eaten before visiting so missed out on trying some of the wonderful food. Lovely original arts and crafts too.

vibrant atmosphere - Make sure you have plenty of time to explore
Our visit to St. George's Market was delightful but unfortunately brief. Arriving about 30 minutes before closing, we quickly realized that our time was limited to explore everything this bustling market had to offer. Despite our time constraint, we thoroughly enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere and the bustling energy of the market. The stalls were filled with a diverse array of goods, from fresh produce and artisanal crafts to mouthwatering food stalls from around the world. One highlight of our visit was discovering the stall selling poffertjes, a Dutch delicacy akin to miniature pancakes. These delectable treats were piping hot and topped with a generous dusting of powdered sugar, caramel and Nutella making for a deliciously indulgent snack that we couldn't resist. While we were unable to fully explore all the stalls at the market, we appreciated the brief glimpse into the lively and eclectic mix of vendors. The atmosphere was infectious, and we left feeling satisfied with our experience.

    Something for everyone
The market is only open Friday, Sat & Sun, so plan your visit. There is a stall for every age from freshly baked bread & cakes to sweets & trinkets to antiques, paintings & an abundance of fast food/drink stalls. When we visited on Sunday there was a young male group playing Irish songs which had the audience captivated, they were really good & added another air of vibrancy to the already good atmosphere, within east walking distance of the city centre & well worth a visit!

    Delicious
We popped in on Good Friday and loved it. Interesting g stalls ranging from fish to jewellery to art. Lots of things to browse and the atmosphere with live music was great. Great choice of food vendors. I had seafood chowder and then some Dutch pancakes.

I found this market very interesting with lots of stalls selling varied wares. I didn't see any of the live music I'd heard so much about but the food stalls looked and smelled amazing and I had a very pleasant time here perusing. The only downside was that because the building is quite large, it has lots of doors and only one through which we could enter and we had to walk the whole way around the outside of the building in the rain to find it.

With a huge array of food stalls as well as arts and crafts this makes for an interesting visit with locals obtaining their provisions to tourists looking for that souvenir of their trip there is something for all. The food stalls provide a variety of aromas and wide culinary options to satisfy most tastes and can be enjoyed either at one of the resting tables or seated at the bistro style tables. With some live music to add to the atmosphere this is well worth a visit to experience the venue, and maybe pick up some gifts or groceries.

We visited on a Saturday morning for breakfast.

The friendliness of all of the stall holders makes you feel very welcome.

We came primarily for breakfast

My wife had a Belfast Bap filled with sausage, bacon and egg which at £6 wasn’t cheap, but there was a lot packed in there

My £7 Lebanese wrap wasn’t cheap either but it was delicious.

There is a huge variety of none food stalls including bric a brac, art and souvenirs.

Worth popping in if you are in the area

Well worth a walk around if you’re in Belfast on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. So much choice with food, crafts, some antiques and fresh fruit and fish. Stop and listen to the live music is good too, if you can find a seat :)

We popped in without much interest as so many places of this type have been a great letdown in the past ....... Not this market ! Plenty of stalls with different merchandise . Lots of stalls selling food, including a lady selling cakes mainly vegan ; delicious. Crafts including paintings including an artist selling fabulous paintings of pheasants and such . A stall selling tea towels of local interest , many jewellery stall and couple of bric and brac stalls. There was live music which set a nice scene . We came away with much and will certainly be contacting some of the stall holders to buy from them in the future.

We loved walking through the stalls here, in particular the art vendors. We loved the artwork by Glenn Thompson and R.W. Young. Both were extremely kind, informative, and welcoming. We enjoyed chatting with both respectively. Additionally, the pulled pork sandwich, BBQ sauces, and hot sauce from Lagan Ribs were absolutely fantastic! It rivaled pulled pork from Memphis, TN, USA!

Everyone said to visit St. George market while we were in Belfast. It's located 10 minutes away from city center. There is nothing " special" it's just an other another city local market with a lot small venues (most of them food) with all kind of food. Spanish food, Italian dishes, fish and bites. Be aware of your personal belongings because locals said there are many pickpockets in that area

Visited here on a Sunday. The market was busy mainly with people queuing for food. The stalls were nearly all arts and crafts with a few antique stalls thrown in. Very inflated prices generally so we ended up buying nothing. Only upside was that we had our first Guinness in Belfast at the upstairs bar where the staff were pleasant and helpful.

That was the second time we visited St. George's Market. We chose the day where there was lots of activities - Fridays to Sundays. The fresh fish mongers were very impressive with their fresh catch of the day and I have never seen such a variety of fish and crustaceans. Worth a visit and recommended.

Stock restaurant in St Georges Market- upstairs

If you haven't tried this restaurant then get down and give it a go! The food is amazing!! The service is so friendly and you have the option to sit inside or on the veranda and watch the hustle bustle of the Market. I have been many times and never left disappointed. Well done to the Chef and staff for making the best Christmas fayre I have ever had in a restaurant, definitely worth treating yourself before the lockdown begins!!
