- Passport7906051 contributionPaula is the bestI met up with some old work colleagues this evening. I'd already been out with my Dad elsewhere for dinner. (He's 81 and fabulous). Obviously he came along too, yay. I could not praise the staff highly enough in Robinsons, particularly Paula who was so kind and welcoming. Robinsons you have a gem!Visited September 2023Traveled with familyWritten October 6, 2023
- Gillian M2 contributionsShockedLove this place. Visit most times I'm in town. Very disappointed to hear bad language from one of the barstaff. Call me a prud, but the f word being used in front of visitors from outside of NI, was embarrassing. It wasn't just once either, it was during conversations with numerous customers and while speaking loudly to his colleagues.Visited November 2023Traveled with familyWritten November 16, 2023

Great atmosphere and where it is generally slightly easier to get a drink than in the connected Fibber Magee, which is always extremely busy. Well worth a visitVisited November 2023Traveled with friendsWritten November 17, 2023
- BrandyladyAberdeen, United Kingdom1,318 contributionsNot the most welcoming…. But adequate.A huge pub , place a bit like a tardis ! Adequately furnished and comfortable but found the barman less than welcoming …. Seemed to find his job a bit of a slog when I asked for my tipple! TBH a smile and a “ hello , welcome to Belfast “ wouldn’t go a miss ! Also _Drink prices a bit steep. Better more welcoming pubs in the vicinity . Won’t hurry back!Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 20, 2023

Robinsons bar is great, I've drank here whenever I visit or work in Belfast for many years, so when I brought my wife and her friend for the weekend we booked a table to eat here in the 1st floor restaurant.
We arrived 20 minutes early and given a 4 seat booth behind very rowdy group of men who although not offensive in any way were loud and boisterous.
We asked to move to one of the other 4 seat tables that were free and the front of house lady was abrupt and said no and because we had arrived early this was the only table we could have. Her attitude stank.
We voted with our feet and went back to the Actus just behind Robinsons bar and ate there for our second night. I'd say avoid Robinsons Bar restaurant and go to Atcus.

Came with family for dinner. 40 minute wait for drinks to arrive to the table and when they did they were warm!! Brought this to the worker to which he responded “in the grand scheme of things that’s the best you’re gonna get”
We waited 1hour 30 minutes until we were served our food. Two staff serving for a full restaurant was an absolute disgrace at no fault of the staff but the management clearly putting profit over service. Seen at least 5 families walk out due to the shocking wait times. Will be avoiding here in the future! Shame cause the food is half decent... the 50% off eat out scheme must mean you get 50% of the service!!

Two of us went in for a pub lunch. We both ordered the classic burger (£13 each), my partner ordered a side of coleslaw (£4 - seriously?!). Along with a large Coke and large Diet Coke, the total was £40!
In some pub chains, what we ordered would have been less than £20. I don't mind paying for a better product, and had we been charged £30 I wouldn't have said anything. But £40, having a laugh!!!!
The lad who brought out our small portioned meals to us, went to 3 other tables before he took the hint of us calling him that the food was for us. Tables are particularly low and difficult to get your legs under if you are tall.
We have visited a number of Belfast pubs over the past few days, and given every one of them a five star review. This is the one, and only, establishment where we felt ripped off.

Came inside to give it a try and to while away a little time waiting for the train home. The general decoration was similar to the Crown Bar next door but had gone shabby over the years.
Unusually there was a minimum charge for using a debit card to pay for drinks.
The bar staff were argumentative, while the Crown staff could not have been more helpful.
Needless to say we drank up and went next door.

Quiet Sunday afternoon drink together after exploring Belfast. The bar man who served us was incredibly rude and non-welcoming.
The place gave old man pub vibes and wouldn’t recommend for groups of females during the day as feel judged by all the male regulars sat around the bar when trying to order a drink.

Terrible experience. Arrived at 7:15pm on a Sunday, was told there was a 20 minute wait, 40 minutes later went to check and was told the party was just leaving and they would get us in a minute. 10 minutes later they sent the poor bartender in to tell us the kitchen was closed. We had a party that had been travelling all day. They gave us some excuse about being understaffed. Advertisement says they are open for food until 9. Avoid this place!

What a disappointing experience. We were very excited to go into this bar, full of Irish history, to have a traditional Irish coffee. The first younger barman we spoke to seemed a little unsure of what we were ordering so we approached the older barman, who literally yelled at us that we had already spoken to the other barman and why were we wasting his time when he was busy. We sat down , hoping for the best, and were sorely disappointed. The coffee arrived, lukewarm, with some kind of cream already stirred in. We had had an excellent coffee in Sligo, where the barman told us to never stir the coffee, so we knew our initial hesitation to the competency of the younger barman was warranted. Furthermore, one of our party wanted to pay cash with the other three of us putting our drinks on one credit card. We were told we couldn’t do that. What??? Some of the worse customer service I’ve experienced and not even a good drink to compensate for it. There are other good pubs to go to adjacent to Robinsons, do yourself a favor and go to one of those!

Have been in this bar many times and the experience is deteriorating. Just had a real stinker of an experience. Rude barman, no manners, no sense of welcome, no conversation, pure grumpy, even dropped the wine bottles on the counter, no mention of the cost, no offer of a receipt and no thank you. Big ignorant lump. Management needs to look at these characters, but he could be the manager!!! This is not the behaviour for a so called welcoming bar. Standards are slipping. Avoid this place if you are a tourist expecting reasonable standards

While visiting Belfast, I was craving Irish Stew and I found it here. I walked in on a very busy Friday night and I asked the bartender if I can sit anywhere and he replied yes, if a table is empty, take it. Being that is was busy and all tables were occupied, I proceeded to walk out, but he stopped me and let me know I could eat at the bar. He was very friendly, and proceeded to hand me a menu. The service was very quick and friendly, and the food tasted great! I greatly appreciate the friendly welcome!

We visited Robinson's last night , we were met by a woman that had the most unfriendly face & greeting. She also had a very unkept look about her. We told her we had two friends joining us to which she pulled a face shook her head & said well they'll just have to wait. The bar inside is beautifully decorated but it had no atmosphere at all !!! The unfriendly attitude didn't stop with her. It's now table service, we called a fella for another drink he dropped his head & sighed looking like he didn't want to be bothered. Even the girl collecting the glasses was rude. Each & every member of staff were like this as our entrance made us take notice of staff attitudes!!! We realise in this current climate that there is a lot of pressure on staff of all of the hospitality sector. But surely you would be doing your utmost to be as friendly & as welcoming as you could to safe guard people to return. I would definitely think twice about visiting Robinson's again !!!

Beven to belfast twice and on more than one occasion visited this lively, friendly and welcoming bar.
Locals and tourists all mixing together, chatting and listening to local live music in the back area..
If good ale, and music is your thing, no probs here..
Oh..and the do serve various other types of alcohol too...
So ladies and gents alike, great venue to visit if you travel too Belfast
