The Grand Opera House in Belfast is Northern Ireland's premier theatre, presenting a range of drama, dance, opera, comedy, musicals, pantomime, family and West End shows. Established in 1895, the theatre boasts the majestic Victorian main auditorium designed by renowned architect Frank Matcham. Extended in 2006, the original building has been joined by a striking addition to Belfast's skyline, The Baby Grand. The initiate studio is home to a smaller performance space with 100 seats. Northern Ireland's premier theatre delivers an outstanding programme of entertainment, playing host to some of the greatest names in theatre and music. The theatre boasts a wide array of popular shows; everything from opera and drama to pantomime, comedy and musicals. The Grand Opera House offers unrivalled corporate hospitality with tailored events packages and is the perfect venue for meetings, special events and conferences of all sizes. The historical theatre is one of the most unique conference venues in Belfast, catering for seminars, conferences, meetings and weddings for up to 130 people in the Baby Grand Studio. The Main Auditorium holds up to 1060 people and smaller meeting rooms are also available. The theatre bars stock a range of drinks including beer, wine and spirits, in addition to tea and coffee.

we saw the lovely romantic musical "My House" tonight in the beautifully restored Grand Opera House; the cast of 150 young people aged 10 to 18 years of age was superb and our seating was perfect on the G row; it was truly memorable; something to remember for many years :)

This opera house is one that we in NI should be very proud of, if only they could sort out the heat in the place it can sometimes ruin the show

Pavarotti performed in the UK for the first time in his career in the Opera House. beautifully decorated inside this place offers a very varied programme with lots on during the year for all ages. Its quite expensive though if you have kids. The only drawback is sitting up on the balcony in the summer when it can get uncomfortably... More

World-class opera house right in the center of beautifully restored Belfast. Easily accessible from all major hotels, although we always choose the Europa just doors away.

We saw Midsummer Night's Dream here as a last-minute thing and it was enjoyable. Student discounts are available.

I got tickets to see Avenue Q over Christmas. Being a total scatterbrain I accidentally booked a weekend away the same weekend we were supposed to see the show! Went to the box office to see if there was any chance I could change the tickets. No issue at all, staff were so polite and made the transaction very easy.... More

I visit the opera house atleast once a year and I have little to complain about. My only suggestion would be to get to the bar early as it is not quite big enough although the service is as fast as possible and there is a good system in place for grabbing intermission drinks and snacks
