Make sure you wear proper foot wear and bring a waterproof. It's a fair trek to the summit. Takes two to five hours depending on fitness level.

There are a number of trails through this park and I did the most challenging. It takes about 2 hours and is well worth it for the fabulous views over the City and surrounding countryside.

I've been up Cave Hill many times and always enjoyed it. It's a lovely hike that isn't too demanding, the view is great and it's easy to get there from Belfast city centre. Highly recommended!

Walked Cavehill today with a friend. Decided to go off the beaten track and found ourselves hiking up steep hills in the forest. Great day and the reward at the top was worth every lunge!

Definitely do this on a dry clear day. A bit of a lung buster on the way up if you're unfit like me, following the "green" Fort route. It's way marked occasionally, the paths are in good order, some new steps made with a side...More

Fabulous views of Belfast, the lough and surrounding countryside is the reward for reaching the top of Cavehill. The easy option is to drive to the upper car park and enter the park from there, only one steep climb. A round walk from the car...More

This is an enjoyable walk on the edge of Belfast city. More importantly, if you get up to the top, it affords great views over Belfast city and the whole lagan valley, out to the mouth of Belfast Lough, towns up the northern side of...More

Really worth the effort to climb to the top as it has quite breath taking views from the ruins of what once was an old fort, however the path is very very steep in places so be dressed properly and have sensible footwear on, may...More

Great place to go if you are into hiking/mountain walking or looking a walk. Have brought a few groups of young people here for something free to do. Depending on what way you walk it can be easy or hard. The view at the top...More

While doable, I don't think it is worth the headache. It's a steep walk and not always smooth underfoot. Sturdy shoes, drinking water, and back up waterproofs if the weather changes is what you should be considering.
