As each guide has his own perspective, you learn a new fact or point of view each time you take a Black Taxi Tour. It's best to explain to guests (from other countries) that it is a political tour, not necessarily a scenic one. I've taken many of these over the years and am glad that I take lots of... More

Best thing we did in Belfast. Fascinating tour of the city showing areas of unrest (referred to as "the troubles.") in the '60's right to the present time. We were stunned at our ignorance! We highly recommend that you take this tour at the start of your visit as it will impact on your vision of every other site you... More

We drove around in our hire car and stopped at all the murals. Lots of taxis taking tourists on tours too. Great thing is there is free on-street parking everywhere. The murals were really interesting to see.

A few locals recommended we try a Black Cab tour and we're fascinated by political history. We were not disappointed! We booked a mural tour. It was £30 in total, with pickup from our hotel and drop off where we wanted (on this occasion Crumlin Road Gaol - also worth doing!). We saw two neighbourhoods close to Belfast city centre... More

If you are a history buff, it is worthwhile to take the black taxi tour. The tour will take to the sections of Belfast where the Catholics and Protestants resides in separate sections. The drivers will also tell you the history of the 'civil war' that took place in Belfast between the two religious factions.

This was the most entertaining and insightful tour of the former trouble spots (both sides) by drivers who grew up in the environment at the peak of the troubles. Their knowledge is deep shared in an impartial manner. The 'craic' was the best we had on our stay in Belfast. Ask for Tom in his white 'black' taxi!! ....'Honest to... More

My husband and I only took this tour because a friend said how important it was to do a mural tour. Wasn't sure we wanted to spend the time, and which company to call. So glad we did this particular tour! Our driver, Jim, was incredibly knowledgable, and didn't show bias as he explained the "troubles." He explained both sides... More

So extremely eye opening and interesting. To be able to hear stories and the history from someone who actually lived through it is invaluable. So informative and personal. Its just your group and the driver and it is very customizable and personal and the best way to learn about what happening and what is still happening in Belfast.

Paddy, our guide was fascinating, having lived through the troubles provided a first hand insight into life in Belfast during that time. He drove us to many sights and explained what happened in the areas. Most definitely recommend doing this tour for as i said a "complete eye opener" and differing stories to those we were told . Amazed by... More
