Arthur is an excellent storyteller and very honesty in his view of the issues of the troubles between the Irish and the British.
I was a great pleasure to get some insights of the reality from a local.
I can strongly recommend to join his tour.

Thank you for the wonderful review. From the outside, the conflict was portrayed as though it was about religion between catholics and protestants. It wasn't and on my tour I explain why.

Belfast's best walking Tour

We loved the Tour with Arthur. It was the best, most honest city tour we've ever done. Arthur has a wealth of knowledge about Belfast and it's rich, but also troubled history. He also mixes in some nice touches like playing music and his great sense of humour.
It was only the two of us that booked the tour on this monday morning, but Arthur still came out to do the Tour with us, which we really appreciated. The tour certainly left a lasting impression on us. If you're looking for an honest, informative, very personal and well thought out tour that differts from the standard we-rush-you-to-all-sights-in-record-time tours you get elsewhere, then look no further and book this tour right now.

Excellent, Authentic, Knowledgeable, Sensitive
Excellent walking tour with extremely knowledgeable guide. Very authentic description of the history of the troubles seeded with the personal experiences of the guide. Good at explaining the complexities of the situation. Have been on tour before and would repeat it when visiting Belfast again. A good balance between not sugarcoating or downplaying the issues whilst at the same time interjecting appropriate humour and light relief from a serious subject which has had horrendous effects over such a prolonged period. Thanks Matt, some parts of the tour are graphic, they have to be given the subject matter but there is room for humour and music. Those are mainstays of life in Belfast and the tour tries to reflect this.

Excellent tour of Belfast

This tour was excellent and great for anyone who wants to understand more about this part of Northern Irelands history.
Arthur is very knowledgeable and draws on his own experiences to bring events to life.
He peppers the tour with humour but doesn’t shy away from the shocking reality of what actually happened.
Thoroughly recommended.

Thank you Poppy. The tour is factually accurate and objective but it's not a dry history lesson. I include parts of my lived experience as a way that visitors might understand the realities of life in human terms. I also include music because it's a part of life that I love.

Troubles Tour Of Belfast

Arthur was knowledgeable, interesting with an amazing way of making the walking troubles tour come alive. He was friendly, willing to answer questions and sought to be balanced in his perspective as he spoke to us on the tour. I would highly recommend Arthur as a tour guide. You will come away knowing and understanding so much from the "troubles tour". Anyone going to Belfast will be missing out so much if you don't go on the "troubles" walking tour.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Belfast tour. Arthur was friendly, relaxed, passionate about Belfast and very well informed. His knowledge was inspiring. Highly recommend! Headphones were a bonus too.

Highlight of our holiday. Our guide was amazing. He is such an historian. Being Belfast born I was surprised at how little I knew about the city. Leisurely walk, beautiful churches and historical buildings all seen and history explained.

Very insightful tour in the city, Arthur offered us a very detailed account of the political history and its lasting effects on today's politics and communities. Arthur is very knowledgeable and will answer every question about the landmarks visited.

Thank you. I often ask people to leave more complex questions until the end or I might say, "Can we leave that for a while?". The tour is designed to roll out to cover all aspects of the 'Troubles' and life here and often a person will ask a question which I know will be covered further along. At the end of the tour I'm available for any questions people might have.

Arthur was a very interesting and educated gentleman with a very detailed knowledge of Belfast and its history particularly those relating to this tour. He did not hold back on relaying the true facts which was, whilst refreshing, sometimes hard to understand people and what they were capable of. He was unbiased and gave facts from different sectors, their beliefs and actions. If you are really interested in the history of Belfast please book with Arthur.

Some of what occurred here was horrendous but it is called a 'Troubles' Tour. There are better sides to people too which the last part of the tour focuses on. Thank you for the positive review.
