About
The company, run by Allan Hamilton provides mystery walking and driving trails across the south of Northern Ireland and aims to get people to switch off their TVs and games consoles and get out and about exploring the towns and cities of Northern Ireland, learning, and having fun. A Treasure Trail can best be described as a cross between a quiz and a guided walk, and has been compared to a giant game of Clued. Trailers complete a Trail in their own time and at their own pace, following the directions around the best historic and scenic sights of a location.

Good Team Afternoon Out
Jul 2018 • Business
We completed the Belfast City Centre trail (3 teams of 4). It was really good fun and it really makes you open your eyes and see parts of the city you may never have seen before. We were worried it might be a little easy and just for children but this was not the case at all and everyone who took part in it really enjoyed it and I think I will even try some of the other routes.

Great idea!
Aug 2017 • Family
We did the Belfast trail which went around the city centre and waterfront area. We were a group of 2 families, and we split into two teams and went with a 20min gap, but timed ourselves to see who won. The kids were age between 8 and 11. The clues were often too hard for the kids to work out themselves, but that was fine, and they were able to contribute. It took between and hour and an hour and a half. The only thing was that one area we were supposed to go to was closed off, and the last clue seemed to have a typo (printed as a 9 instead of a 6...?) If you are really stuck you can text for clues. It was a good way to put in time without spending too much, and got us walking and seeing places we hadn't been before. Would do it again. Good family activity. Recommend adding in the element of competition!

Fantastic family day out.

We recently completed the Donaghadee treasure hunt trail. There were 4 of us (2 adults, 2 children plus dog) The trail brought us in a circular route around the town. The children had great fun reading the clues and crossing out the destinations not needed. My son said it made a walk more interesting. We are definately hooked and will be trying more of these in the future as they are an excellent way to get to know your local area.

Who knew Belfast was full of treasure?!
Had planned to take the other half on a treasure trail as a fun activity for a Sunday afternoon. I had already done the Armagh Murder Mystery Trail a couple of years before & knew it would be right up his "entry" 😉

We started our trail at Belfast City hall, which is absolutely stunning if you just take the time to stop & look at your surroundings. We both work in the city centre & walk past these sights everyday, but this trail gave us the opportunity to properly take it all in.

Other the next hour & a half, we weaved our way across the city, to the Waterfront Hall, over the river, circumnavigating Customs House, soaking up the interesting culture & history that these buildings had to offer.

We crossed off suspects from our lists, all in an attempted to scope out the imaginary killer of our imaginary victim. But the true joy of this tour & others like it, is that through its interactive & self leading nature, we were much more likely to look at & appreciate the city that we live in. We found it much more informative than if we had been sat on a sight seeing bus, being force fed facts.

This tours give you the opportunity to rediscover a place you thought you knew. History is in every building & in every foot step of the city you take for granted.

Definitely not just for tourists. Thumbs up from this country girl & her city boyfriend!

A cracking day out
This is the only way to explore Belfast and the surround area's. You download the trail of your choice, follow the clues that take you around the sight's. Once completed you enter the prize draw. All this for £5.00, our family are now hooked on the walks.
No need for a tour guide, no expensive tickets, no getting wet and following the crowd just a great walk in our own time.
The trails are clue based, so you need to follow the directions and then solve the clues to finish the trail. You do not need any maps, just the ability to read.
For anyone thinking of what to do on your visit or even on that boring Sunday morning, check Treasure Trails out.
