For a city centre, this is GRIM!
Jul 2020 • Family
2020 in a capital city, this train station is like something from the 1980s. For a first impression of a major city, it’s quite embarrassing. The ticket machines didn’t work all week, which was the the whole of our trip (incidentally this turned out cheaper for us). There isn’t a single seat on the platform which for elderly and disabled passengers is again extremely dated

They charged me adult ticket when I am 15 years old and had to have that money for my bus to get to my mothers house! I had to walk 15 miles to my mothers from the train station and it was raining!!!!!!!!!

Awful bathroom facilities
Apr 2019 • Family
After a two hour train journey with two young kids I had to queue for fifteen minutes to use the female bathroom. The other toilets in the bus area was shut... Apparently they never have the two open at the one time. It was disgraceful. On the return journey both sets were closed and the queue was for the disabled toilet.

The staff were empathetic but sort it out tranalink! Have the two sets open at peak times or something!! For some people this could be the first experience in Belfast/Northern Ireland.... Memorable to say the least.

Busy
Dec 2018 • Family
Very busy train station and bus station is this one. With adequate seating to wait for your train or bus and good selection of shops to shop in this is a great station.

Train and bus station
Aug 2018 • Couples
Like this station as both the bus and train service operate from it giving you a good choice of journey times. The cafe called Cafe bar( Cafe Ritazza) isn't great and a bit expensive for what you get. Toilets by train station always seem to be closed.

The station is right behind the Europa Hotel, so very convenient to those patrons. I used it for both a train to Ballymena and a bus to Dublin. Cleanliness was OK. I purchased my tickets online so I can't speak to that service. I also didn't buy anything to eat or drink, nor did I use the toilet facilities. Take note that if you're on a late night or early morning bus (i.e. to Dublin airport), you need to wait at the security gate until they come open it just a few minutes prior to bus departure - even though your online ticket states you need to be there 20 minutes ahead of schedule to redeem tickets. I was worried that I was going to miss my bus, until I realized others were waiting at the gate for the same bus. The bus driver then redeemed my ticket directly on the bus.

Veggies travel too! Disappointed!
Apr 2018 • Friends
My sister and I are travelling to Dublin today from Europa Bus Station. We thought we would get a breakfast before our trip and tried the cafe/bar in the Europa. As vegetarians we asked for a piece of soda and a poached egg. The girl serving replied with "no we only do Ulster fries" to which we asked surely she could give us a piece of soda and an egg each. She said no she can't. Then I asked if we could pay for an Ulster fry but just get soda and egg for two as we are vegetarians to which she replied "all of the fry food is fried in the same pan". We obviously left...business lost from us two frequent travellers and will be saying to other veggies to avoid it. We then went to yahi cafe and had a lovely clean fresh meal. It was no hassle to them. I would suggest that you update your menu in the cafe/bar in the station and also update the staff within it as veggies travel too you know! 😡😩

Appalling customer service
Dec 2017 • Friends
I have recently gained my smart pass and travelled by train to Belfast city centre this evening, 5.15 pm. My friend and I were unsure re the regularity of trains for our return journey and decided to check with the information desk. The staff member there was very pleasant, but since she took some time in confirming train times, and later trains were quite intermittent, we decided to go to the train ticket office to check train time and obtain our tickets in advance of our journey. There was no queue when we arrived at the ticket desk. The female assistant was unhelpful, to say the least. She said that she finished early and had no idea of later train times, handed us a timetable and said that she had a queue of people needing served who where on on their way home from a days work. Not only was she rude, insulting but we felt, also ageism. Trans link, maybe some staff need to brush up on their customer service skills, or perhaps place them behind the scenes, away from the public
