Prejudice at a poor club
Mar 2020 • Friends
Arrived with a group of friends as it was his 19th birthday. Had booked a table for £160 as he enjoys the “reputation” of the place. Door men are rude, egotistical and hold extreme prejudice. Will refuse entry for no reason ruining your night out. Do not attend this club if you are below the age of 30. Poor atmosphere, more expensive drink and rude staff. We were told we weren’t getting in for our choice of footwear, which we have wore each other time we have attended yet this time was somehow so much different? People in vans and adidas shoes walked straight in but we couldn’t even with the same shoes on. When I questioned how there was any differences I was told the difference is they’re getting in and you’re not. Do not go here, many other clubs and bars that are far superior.

Disgrace! Not gonna go there ever again
Feb 2020 • Friends
I gave Alibi 1* but it was more like 0* ! We booked cocktail master class for my friends birthday and there was nothing master about it ,cocktails weren't even nice! We supposed to get recepies with it and picture and it never happened. We were waiting also for 2 hours to get upstairs for our VIP table which we have paid for and were told we could go there between 9-10pm. We kept asking bouncers when could we go in,and they kept telling us another 5,10,15,20 mins..which was fishy straight away as club opens at 10pm! It was 10.30 and bouncer said they cant let us in,so we asked why?and their response was 'We cant give you a reason'! They ruined our night basically but took the money! Them bouncers need to get shifted as they let people through based on their looks which is ridiculous!Never again am I going there! The management is nothing but a joke too! From other reviews I've seen it happened to other people too. They think they're tough? Not so much, they're pathetic 👎😡

Trash establishment don’t waste your time
Feb 2020 • Friends
Bouncers jerk each other off with abusing their power at the door. Blatantly racist and discriminatory to those that don’t look like them. There’s a class bar down the street called Benedict go spend your money there. Especially, if these two on the far left and right are at alibi. These two are the most ignorant, racist and power trip men I’ve met. They must be miserable in life that they feel the need to create such a negative environment every night.

Bouchers are bullies
Feb 2020 • Friends
Doesn't matter how many times you try to get in they will never give you a answer. All the bouncers are bullies especially the bald one if he's on the door he picks and chooses whos allowed in. They don't allow you in if your over weight either. It's 2020 people are dying due to mental health youd think people would consider how much this affects someone mentally but not them they look at you like your trash and treat you like it too. Save yourself and go some were like ollies , lux atleast you'll be treated like a human and will enjoy your night.

Alibi Nightclub Review
Feb 2020 • Friends
Excellent nightclub. Friendly staff, good drinks and excellent music. I always have a good night in Alibi and have only been refused entry on once occasion and I was too drunk so it was fair. Closes at 2am-3am which is early compared to some nightclubs in other locations but standard for Northern Ireland.

Bad club with bouncers who think they are worth more than they are, turned up in jeans and a Tommy hillfigger jumper and get turned away for no reason, because they can't give 'a reason'

Discriminate against people and turn people away
Jun 2019 • Friends
We pre booked a booth for our friends birthday and we pre paid £150, we rang beforehand to ask what the dress code was, we were told dressy trainers was okay. We arrived at Alibi, no one was drunk and everyone was well dressed, we were all over 18 and all had ID. We had also checked beforehand to make sure that it wasn’t an over 21 club on a Saturday night to which we were told no it was over 18, so legally we were the right age to get in. The girl who’s birthday it was was at the top of the line and told the bouncer they had a pre booked table, she was then told they weren’t getting in, when she asked why she was told “no explanation”, we did get our money back but were left with no where to go on a busy Saturday night. Quite frank I don’t know how the place is still running because they turn a lot of people away on a regular basis, this is not the first time this has happened and won’t be the last I’m sure, save yourself the disappointment and go somewhere else, not worth the hassle. They had no reason to turn us away and they discriminated against us, I will be taking this further!

Sunday night - Ok Club
May 2019 • Friends
Me and 6 friends were in the club on Sunday 07th May (Bank holiday weekend). We did not expect the club to be crazy full like a Saturday, but also did expect to be a little bit busy, ones monday would be bank holiday and the city did not have many open clubs Sunday.

We paid 136 pounds for a reservation (entrace for 7 and a bottle 0.70ml of vodka with mixers), which is not cheap... the music was not bad and there were a few people, but far from be busy and the club closed before 2am, so I would say is far from a great nightout, if you are used to stay out all night.

I would not bother to go back Sundays, maybe in a Saturday and you have to start your nightout around 7pm.

Poor customer service
May 2019 • Friends
Visited last night (May bank holiday Sunday) as part of a group of 4 & can honestly say this place is not worth going too.
They ran a Facebook competition which one of the family had entered and they had been advised they had won a prize of a booth for 10 people, free bottle of prosecco and the option to add on 'bottomless prosecco' for £10 pp. The prize message outlined a number of entertainment features planned for the night including Dj in bar downstairs and there was encouragement to come early and enjoy half price cocktails 8-10pm.
Having only been in Alibi twice before & neither time thinking it was anything special and somewhat lacking in atmosphere Compared to other nightlife venues in Belfast, we hesitantly decided to go and make a night of it and the prize was an excuse to give it another go. That was a mistake !
We arrived approx 8.40pm and on going to order cocktails were advised there was no half price cocktails, that offer only applies midweek. Explaining the prize and that we had the details in writing the bar man called a manager and Alan arrived and once he seen proof of messages, we were told it was a mistake but he accepted the Alibi PR person didn’t have the correct information regarding cocktails or indeed entertainment.
Conscious that the prize 'a booth for 10 with bottle of complimentary prosecco & option to add on bottomless prosecco for £10' might not be correct we asked Alan & he said the prosecco offer was £15 pp so another inaccuracy in the 'winning' message. He went to check on the reserved booth and came back to say it was sorted so we relaxed and enjoyed a few cocktails each over the next 2hrs & Alan honoured the offer on these within the agreed time.
We started to unwind and enjoy our evening, however on moving upstairs to the club to avail of the reserved booth we got stopped and told we had to go back down and get stamps. Not sure if we went through a wrong door but there was no indication it was the wrong door and one friend had already entered and not returned so we awaited her before going down to get 'stamped'. As we waited a hostess arrived and realising we were for the booth she took us through and seated us.
A few of us went to the ladies & on return still no sign of the complimentary prosecco & then a security man arrived to tell us there was some confusion and we had to pay! Once again it was a case of you have to go downstairs and talk to a manager 🙄 & this time a different manager who basically didnt care about the prize email & said the booth wasn't free. We are still confused what the prize was - maybe the reserved sign was the prize ?? They talked about a guest list - there was about 30 people in the nightclub at 11.30 and no more than 15 downstairs between 8.40 and 11pm so a place on a guest list isn't anything special.
Other venues were packed as it was bank holiday Sunday so that speaks volumes - go to one of the other great bars and clubs in Belfast and have a good night and give Alibi a miss.
Very very poor service from Alibi & no communication between PR and staff on the floor.
Manager Alan did recover the situation on the ground floor & apologised for the lack of entertainment promised here but this service recovery was wasted by upstairs staff afterwards.
