- Brian-SnellgroveMidsomer Norton, United Kingdom1,877 contributionsA great choice and high qualityIt is supposed to be the largest covered market in Wales. I would not disagree. It was a joy to see so many fresh fish and fresh meat stalls, and also bakeries, haberdasheries and quaint niche stands. Everyone was friendly and the prices were good. I will visit again.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 15, 2023
- SawyerHereford, United Kingdom205 contributionsBright, jolly indoor market with interesting stalls, good food and free WCsSwansea indoor market is near the bus station. There are very clean, free WCs. There's a clear roof for sunlight and a seating area for people who buy food from the interesting vendors e.g. seafood, falafel. There are green grocers, bakers, old-fashioned sweets, comics/superhero figures, jewellers, Lethbridge's bag stall where I finally found the kind of bag I need after many months of shopping in other cities.... It's all here!Visited June 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 11, 2024

Has everything from local produce including fresh cockles and laverbread, Gower grown vegetables, clothing, jewellery and fit electrical store. Lots to eat in here or just have s as cuppa with a snack. Full of character and it’s very big. We loved it and there was even a small seating venue area with a local entertainer for the children.Visited September 2024Traveled with familyWritten September 14, 2024

What can you say. We were in town on the Sunday and this was closed so we made a point in going in to see it on The Tuesday. It was a wee bit disappointing to say the least . For someone like me I loved the record shop. Amazing browse but nothing else gripped me. I did go into a shop that sold ‘different’ things but the back flow burners were being sold twice the price I bought mine so really disappointed to say the least . However the fruit and veg looks amazingly fresh . If I lived here? I would go there for fresh fruit and veg

Stopped for a pot of tea at Janet's cafe, which was duly delivered. The young lady made no reference to our small dog quietly sat by the table. A little later after we had just poured our tea, some other woman says we'll have to go because of the dog, saying we'll have to have takeout cups. I merely ask for a tray to take our refreshments out of the café area (of which there is no signage regarding dogs, welcome or otherwise) at which point some other fish wife unconnected to the cafe starts on about you can't sit there you'll have to have takeout cups. Now...if I'd wanted takeout cups I would have ordered takeout, yes? Tray promptly dropped there and then, told them we felt as welcome as a fart in a spacesuit and left. We have been to Swansea market many times over the years, and we always make a special trip just to do so. Well done all you've just lost this customer, i only gave one star as there is no option for zero

I don't often leave reviews for indoor markets, but this is a good one. I counted five top-quality butchers and four fishmongers in my short walk around. I bought two tomahawk steaks for an amazing £19.99 each, and got some hefty oysters for £1.50 each. It's a great market to stroll around on a wet day. I wish we had something similar where we live.

The market is great but davies of mumbles pasties stall wanted to charge me 10p for a small paper bag. I bought 2 items and bag was all greasy so was going to break so only wanted to put both my items in a new bag. Disgusting for what u pay for things. Lady on another stall gave me a bag n some stalls only charge 5p for a plastic bag. They have allowances for bags etc so shouldn't have to pay for paper bags.

Every time we are in the area on a break away we make a point of stopping by Swansea market.
There’s so much to have a look at & a great place to try locally sourced & local treats. All fresh and the owners are friendly and welcoming.
The hot fresh Welsh cakes are mouthwatering.
We love the huddle and bustle and the environment of this old school indoor market.
Take the time out to visit, get to meet local traders and taste locally sourced items.

I visited forever gold to have my ring fixed and just want to compliment the amazing service. I have had my ring taken in before, but I was missing a stone this time. It was fixed but I was unhappy as the stone was a different colour and one of the claws hadn't been fixed. When I took it back, both dave and sheryl couldn't it been more helpful and apologetic. They promised to work with me until the issues had been resolved. And they did!!! I was told to expect not to hear from them for 2 weeks, but within 2 days I had my ring back, like brand spanking new!!! The stones are better than ever and the claw had been fixed as promised. I was charged no extra as they were set on resolving their mistake and making sure I was happy. They were so so sorry for the mix up. Which I absolutely didn't mind as, as promised, it was made good as new in less time than expected and with such genuine and quality service. Everyone makes mistakes but its rectifying it that is the important part, and they most certainly did, whilst being ever so helpful and kind. I am so so happy with the outcome and will certainly be going to them in future, never a problem to rectify anything and they just want to make sure the customer is happy. Thankyou both, I'll be back in future!!

At the outset I must say that I love Swansea Market but am often let down by the cockle sellers at the central rotunda. Most recently Andrie Swistun was asked for confirmation that they were Penclawdd cockles. She said yes of course and again when pressed said they were from Penclawdd. The truth of the matter is they were not and had in all probability been imported from Holland. They were larger and nowhere the quality of local qualities. Disappointed to be lied to yet again

Swansea Market is a busy, thriving indoor market. There is a wide variety of stalls selling all sorts of things including clothes, jewellery, greeting cards and souvenirs.
There are also loads of street food stalls selling a huge variety of different food.
Well worth checking out for local vendors.
