About River Tawe Cruise Swansea
This is Swansea Community Boat trust, and operates out of the national waterfront museum in Swansea marina district. It is a great and little known, reasonably priced cruise up thr river tawe for two hours, looking at the beautiful landscape and the remnants of the huge and important copper industry in 19th Swansea.

Had a lovely 90 minutes on this boat (we were also quite lucky with the weather). Our guide (Dave) was an absolute mine of information. He seemed to know every inch of the river. As well as all of the wildlife we might see. I plan on doing this trip again. I can recommend this trip for a nice slice of Swansea history.

Beautiful scenary, very informative, shop, bar, snacks on board. Would not recommend taking young children though as at 90mins long they can get restless.

We took our nearly 8 year old grandson on Copper Jack over the Bank Holiday weekend. We had been before but this was his first trip. He enjoyed it for the most part but unfortunately there were two three year olds who had been taken on the trip who were screaming and generally making a lot of noise so we couldn't hear the commentary. Under 5s are free but I really feel this is not a suitable trip for toddlers. Obviously they can't be expected to sit quietly for an hour and a half and we didn't take our 5 year old grand daughter on the boat for this reason. She would have been bored and doubtless noisy. We'll wait until she is a bit older so she can enjoy it. The boat itself is lovely and the staff great.

I would recommend booking this in advance as we had to wait for all bookings to arrive before we could be told if there was space or not. There is a commentary for this trip which was very informative but I would recommend some of the trip there was no commentary to enjoy the surroundings. Refreshments available and there was a toilet but advised to only use if necessary. I wouldn’t recommend for children as they get restless. Visibility difficult in bad weather. Liked the idea of this boat being a community project. Good for schools and organisations.
