Pleasant little theatre near the Waterfront.
Mar 2020
A cosy little theatre with Dylan Thomas memorabilia in the foyer. Seating is well-raked to give a good view of the stage. Good facilities but could do with a cloak room/facility other than the single coat stand!

Small but perfect

Went to see a play there last night. A very welcoming ambience and great view of the stage. Intermission for ice cream and a bar open too.
Prices really good as was the play
Thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Such a great experience and going back for more....says it all!

GREAT LITTLE AMATEUR THEATRE
Dec 2019 • Friends
I made my first visit last week and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I’d definitely go again! The performance was great, a good cast, the scenery was well done and a cosy auditorium. Definitely a hidden gem!

My favourite theatre anywhere. Also call the Little Theatre

This is a very small theatre located on the side of the Marine Quarter of Swansea. The theatre is well supported and has a core of very talented actors. Seating is tiered with probably no more than 200 seats to you are very close to the actors with an unrestricted view. Most years there is a performance of Under Milk Wood and/or another Dylan Thomas play or short story, but the format of changes. My favourite was when UMW was performed like the original radio play with the actors sitting in a semi circle behind a veil-like curtain.

Nice little theatre.

A friend was appearing in a world premiere here, hence the reason for the visit. A pleasant little theatre with a capacity of about 150 and a well-raked auditorium. Could do with a cloakroom or something better than a single coatstand by the box office. On this occasion programmes cost £5 which was a bit steep for an amateur production.

A HIDDEN GEM
Dec 2018 • Friends
A friend and myself went to a daytime performance of Dylan Thomas’s A Child’s Christmas in Wales. It was brilliant! The seating was comfortable with ample legroom. We picked our seats for a good view and then a tall lady with a hat on sat in front of me, but the seats are set out in such a way that I was still able to see well.

I shall be looking out for more events. I should add the ticket prices are reasonable.

European premiere of Be More Chill a great success
Jul 2018 • Family
At the suggestion of our daughter we last night attended the first production in the whole of Europe of the hit American musical Be More Chill by the Self Proclaimed Theatre Company. They were absolutely brilliant and it was a privilege to see the first ever performance of the show this side of the Atlantic in such an intimate setting. There were occasional problems with microphones and sound mix, but the talent and energy of the company was incredible. Hopefully we will see SPTC again and go to see more shows at this great little theatre.

A lovely place to visit for the family, especially when the Swansea Jazz festival bands were performing in the theatre.
