Fabulous eco shop!
Sep 2016
Brilliant idea at the shop in the Environment Centre - you can bring all your Ecover products for refills (laundry liquid, washing up liquid, shower gel etc). I have not found anywhere else that does this. Such a great idea to reduce plastic packaging. They also do refills for Bio-D and Suma (my favourite eco friendly shampoo and conditioner).

It's a great for people wanting to lessen their impact on the planet. They sell plastic-free items like toothbrushes and reusable coffee cups, both made from bamboo.

Brilliant also for fair trade gifts - my children loved the insect window decorations. They sell games, nature-themed toys, jewellery etc, many made from recycled materials.

A real hidden gem, staff very helpful with great advice. Fab cafe too - delicious raw chocolate brownie! Will definitely be back.

Great city centre ecocafe & ecoshop
Aug 2016 • Friends
Enjoyed a lovely coffee, fizzy elderflower, and vegan raw choc snack bar in the garden seating area of this small but perfectly formed eco café and ecoshop. Also bought refills of my kitchen products at this wonderful place near to Morgans hotel - worth a visit

Stopped in over my lunch break
I accidentally found this place despite walking past it daily and decided to pop in for a coffee. Was surprised by the choice and had a pretty decent fair trade cappuccino for just £1.50.

There are some lovely craft goods on offer as well as home goods which shouldn't be overlooked. The building is quirky, clean and quiet and it was a nice place to eat and reflect.

I'll make this a regular visit I think to get away from the office and experiment with their packageless washing liquid etc for home.

Could be so much more...
May 2014 • Family
After leaving Swansea in 2006 and having very fond memories of the Environment centre, we returned there with our children in 2014. Although the staff are lovely and the building is architecturally very interesting, we felt that there was little in the way of anything there now.

The turf roof is open, but the door was so jammed that it obviously isn't used frequently! There is a little café but this comprises only of a tea and coffee machine and a few pre-packaged biscuits (albeit fairtrade).

We had been hoping for home-cooked food, fun activities for the children to take part in, or at least some books to keep them entertained but were quite disappointed with the little that there was there. On the plus side, there does appear to be a fair range of environment-friendly goods such as Ecover and other names still available if you wanted to make use of the shop.

This centre should be a hub for environmental awareness across the city and it could do so much more to engage young people and the public. Perhaps an unfortunate casualty of 'the cuts', I hope that one day we will see it revived to its former glory.
