Visited here on Saturday January 25th.Outstanding night of comedy song and magic,Top of the bill was John Owen Jones and the west end star was superb, ably backed by The Fly Boys,Noel James,Shellyann,Sophie Evans, and Soul Illusion but it was the incredible voice of thirteen year old Gracie Jayne that stole the show, Gracie is surely destined to be a world star.Incredible value for money and would definitely return. You can find all the entertainers on U Tube and it is well worth a look.

Fabulous from start to finish, welcomed by staff, quick foyer service, clean and glorious decor. Bar was efficient but a tad expensive.
Panto was outstanding laughed until my jaw ached..kids loved it so much.
Scenery was stunning as were the costumes and the music was fantastic. Highly recommend a visit.

We had the pleasure of watching the pantomime in it's first performance on Friday 11th Dec. I have watched many pantomimes around London over the last 15 years, and had not set my hopes too high,
When the show began in this beautiful old Theatre my family and I were all totally amazed at the quality of the production and we all loved the show. Louie Spence, Peter Piper, Kevin Johns, Zoe George and and the very talented actor who played Jack were all incredible. Our whole group from Pembrokeshire of 42 loved the show, but my children all agreed that this was the best Pantomime they had ever seen.

I would strongly recommend any family wanting a fun filled afternoon or evening would struggle to find a better source of entertainment in Wales this Christmas!

Puccini's La Boheme as put on at Swansea's Grand Theatre was a first class performance. The music was fabulous, the scenery and staging fantastic and the singing wonderful. The staff at the theatre were friendly and helpful: there was good parking directly opposite the venue.

All good.

But sadly, my enjoyment of the above was severely curtailed by the fact that the refurbishment in the mid 1980s didn't seem to stretch to the seating. I've never had to sit in such uncomfortable seats in either a theatre, a planetarium, cinema or lecture theatre. It got so bad, I left at the end of the 3rd Act, which was very upsetting.

Paul McCartney once said that all he got out of the theatre was a sore backside ... he must have meant here.

Just felt I had to write about how disgusted I was with this show. The Public are obviously stupid! The reviews I've seen for this act prove it.

OPEN YOUR EYES AND EARS! They are not good, they are DUPING the public. They are playing everything through track playback and singing over the top. This is a FAKE tribute band. They are conning hundreds of theatre goers with smoke and mirrors.

I am a sound engineer with 37 years experience, I have also talked with several colleagues in the field who have done "Sound" for these guys. They FAKE it....

How many of you would be happy to go and see a concert mimed?

Not only that the quality of the backing tracks are poor too, very electronic, when ELO should be about acoustic strings, acoustic drums, Keyboard/Synth and Electric guitars played with precision.

There is very little going on stage...other than a swindle.

Sorry to say that the theatres also have a lot to answer for here too...why are the departments in charge of booking acts not looking properly? They are only interested in £££!

As well they are supposed to have won a tribute band award....How? Because they were the only ELO tribute at the time of the award? People aren't asking questions, they are just settling for what is put in front of them by people wanting to make £££'s

Throw enough crap and it sticks...

You can polish a turd and throw glitter on it...guess what it sticks...

SERIOUSLY, LOOK AND LISTEN TO WHAT YOU ARE WATCHING...otherwise my faith in humanity has gone!

When we visited in person to book tickets, the box office staff were excellent, this part of the theatre seems very well run. However the Footlights bar was dreadful, They advertise as being open at 5pm, when in fact they start serving drinks at around 6pm, that would be after the staff and in particular the two blonde female management finish chatting amongst themselves. The service was abysmal, and it wasn't particularly busy at that time. We also ordered drinks for the interval and paid accordingly. When we arrived to collect them at the interval I was shown some one else's drinks. Ten minutes later I was still trying to locate my drinks which had already been paid for, with my receipt in my hand.

But to make matters very much worse, as we only had a few minutes to drink the glasses of wine, I politely asked for two plastic glasses to take into the auditiorium to enjoy them, I was shouted at , and told no drinks are to be taken from the bar. I suggest a sign be put up showing this fact, a fact that I have not encountered in any of the West End (London) theatres which we visit monthly, but to be spoken at like that was so unprofessional , and also downright nasty. We also had to leave two almost full glasses of wine on the bar.
Ladies, I suggest if you do not like working with the public, as you very clearly detest people in general, I would think you may be suited to another profession, to add insult to injury ,as we left at the end of the show, we noticed that the floor was littered with empty alcohol bottles!!

The sooner this beautiful theatre is taken away from Swansea Council , and a proffessional theatre company take over, the better. Hopefully they will get rid of the dead wood who work there, and install a friendly and proffessional team to provide refreshments. The worst front of house I have ever encountered, anywhere in Europe.

Again I cannot fault the lovely box office staff, maybe they could run the whole place .

We visited on 30th December 2015 for a matinee of the panto. The show was brilliant but the thoughtfulness of the front of house staff outshone everyone on the stage on the day we visited.

My partner's 3 yr old was with us on his first ever panto trip and found it all a bit overwhelming. My partner took him out to the foyer where a steward approached him and offered them space to view the show from the lighting/technical box.
The thoughtfulness of the theatre management and staff to offer this option to parents whose children might benefit from it meant that his 1st theatre visit was a positive one and he got to enjoy the whole show.
In addition the show was brilliant, a very enjoyable family day out.

Saw Mowtown and was blown away by the performers. Their singing was amazing but their dancing which didnt slow down at all right to the end was mind blowing ! Next we saw The Dreamboys and have to say they were such fun. Well done and very tasteful all the way through, till the last bill when it went full frontal but it wasnt offensive because of his beautiful smile (yes I do mean his smile) The guys were having a laugh the whole time and their dancing was brill. Of course they were all beautiful as well. Favourite Shane-wowzer!

Went to the Grand theatre to see Spirit of the dance, it was brilliant and thoroughly enjoyed it. What spoiled the evening was the pre show experience. We arrived early intending to have a meal and a drink before the show. What a disappointment, we were told that they stopped serving food at 5pm. What is the point of that. Surely people want to eat later especially when the show was not starting until 7.30. From what I understand it is run by the council, if this is the case then someone needs to look into this sorry state of affairs. Surely having food available to pre show guests has got to be a priority this could be making the council extra cash. Sad to say it did somewhat spoil our evening as we were left feeling quite hungry by the time the show was over.

Although Sunset Boulevard was amazing and we really enjoyed the performance I have to say I was very disappointed with the seats we sat in. In no literature the theatre provides does it state that the seats we chose had a restricted view of the stage. My wife and I sat in the second row on the right had side of the theatre I believe we were row C seats.

I sat right on the end next to a pillar and I could see no action at all that took place on the right had side of the stage and it did somewhat spoil a fantastic show as I had to lean over constantly to try and observe the performance. If you have the chance to book these seats, don't.

Overall I like this theatre and have attended here on numerous occasions and although the seats are small they are comfey.

I would recommend this theatre as there is easy parking closeby and it really easy to get to from the M4, its the choise of seats that stop me giving it an excellent rating.
