Went to see Beauty and the Beast-show was fantastic as is the venue-normally-however social distancing was not done and although an announcement said masks must be worn, a good quarter didn’t or had them on incorrectly. This wasn’t picked up on even though there were more than a few complaints-a real shame.

My daughter and I have just gotten home from watching Beauty and the Beast. It was announced a few times that everyone inside thebuilding had to wear their masks and the majority of the audience wore them throughout. Covid passes were checked, on entering building, and if anyone went outside, during the interval they had to have their hands stamped. Well what can I say about the performance, it was fantastic, the lighting, props, effects and accoustics were amazing, the colours vibrant, and the actors themselves were magnificent. I was enthralled the whole evening. It has been adapted for stage very well. I love Disney, and before this Lion King had been my favourite, but this tops everything i've seen, absolutely amazing!!! Well done to everyone involved, we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

We were visiting the centre to see Grease, on entry everyone had their mask on and covid passes were checked at each escalator to go upstairs to the theatre.
But once upstairs people then ignored the rules and masks were taken off, there was no social distancing and all the areas were packed.
We are not aware of any staff approaching people requesting they put their masks back on nor did we hear any safety announcements over the radio.

The show itself was good but we won’t be returning until safety procedures are properly in place.

The Theatre and staff were wonderful, ensuring everyone was well catered for.
I have always loved Grease, both the music and the tongue in cheek attitude of the original film. However, this production was completely underwhelming.

First of all, the sound system & acoustics were so poor that I could not make out any word that was being spoken. I am sure there were some jokes in the script, but if there were, they were very difficult to make out.

To make matters worse, the director seemed to have all of the cast speaking at the same time during many points of the performance. This added to the overall confused feel.

In fairness all of the songs came across loud and clear. The songs carried the show.

The director has played with the original script to the point of creating confusion. There seemed to be no developing relationship narrative for Danny and Sandy. If I did not know the story already I would wonder why they ended up together. During the final scene ( no fairground) Danny seemed to be set to go with another girl (Patti) until Sandy made her appearance. I do not remember this from the film.

People love Grease and love the songs. If it was not for the songs, this production would have fallen flat.

Lovely theatre, modern interior, good leg room, staggered seating so no worries about having an obscured view. Got a taxi right outside as we were staying the other side by Golate..taxi £7

Tonight has been our first time actually back in the theatre since lockdowns have been lifted, the show we saw was amazing but the centre was not, every phase changed since it’s reopened and not in a good way.
As you first enter through the main door you are confronted with a massive billboard style structure baking the the entrance claustrophobic instead of a big open space where the ticket desk a coat check was. The bars where always very under staffed but tonight the Queue for the bar stretched out of the room and down the staires.
The venders refused cash and only credit cards so after queuing for ages to get an ice-cream we where turned away to get card sending us to back of line.
We’ve also been trying to buy tickets for a small group of friends but it’s impossible to talk to anyone over the phone.
The New Theatre last night was a world away , friendly staff great evening , shan’t bd back in a long time

First visit since the pandemic. The most depressing theatre visit of my life and I am an theatre reviewer. I understand safety rules need to be in place for Covid but the building looked the most unwelcoming venue I have ever seen. Box office boarded up, cold empty echoing corridors and no coffee.
No hot drinks anywhere. How hard is it to serve a filtered coffee?
No cafes open downstairs and not one of the bars could give me a hot drink, although the staff were apologetic.
The WNO Madama Butterfly was okay and if the venue had been welcoming and full of life I could say I enjoyed the night, but the performance and set were mediocre. The orchestra seemed to have attended different rehearsals to the singers who were often drowned out by the pit.
Rain like the end of the world outside and no taxi rank.
I think this theatre suffers from a serious lack of planning pre-pandemic let alone during a pandemic.
It is not my first visit but it will definitely be my last.

It's been a while since we've seen such a gorgeous building with such an imposing façade.
The center is located in Cardiff Bay and during non-Covid 19 days - houses shows and exhibitions.
It's still worth a visit just to gaze at the amazing façade, though.

Have experienced lots of shows here, and have always been impressed, both inside the building and out. Visited this weekend to see my first show since the pandemic began and was very impressed with the safety measures put in place. I felt very safe at all times and staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Staff were adhering to all guidance, as well as ensuring that guests were too.

The show itself was amazing (Dragprov) and the service of ordering and having drinks delivered directly to your seats was first class. I'd definitely recommend a visit here, and experience a show if you are able.
