Rubbish

Concerts are way too crowded. Went to one on Tuesday, packed. After what happened in America recently perhaps stopping people from moshing or keeping it confined might have been an idea as well as opening up the balconies for general tickets. The staff and security were rude and there was not enough of them.

Great venue, super easy to navigate. But done down your drinks prices!

Amazing venue to get in an out of, super easy. Very friendly staff. We saw Tim Minchin, and of course the set and atmosphere was awesome. However the cost of drinks was extortionate. £28 for a bottle of wine and some M&Ms.

Extortionate prices for drinks.

Had a good night recently at the arena which is a great venue. Only thing that spoilt the evening was the prices of drinks. Ok, £5.25 for a pint of Carlsberg is not too bad but £7.25 for a miniature bottle of echo falls wine is extortionate. Come on motorpoint, really !!!

Lost in Music
Nov 2021
We have just arrived home from an evening of 70's music at this venue. We had an upgrade to better seats as the venue was unfortunately only half full. You wouldn't have thought though as the atmosphere was great! The Covid passes had to be shown this evening, and everything ran smoothly. Queues dispersed quickly,no hanging around, it was all very well organised. The show itself was brilliant, we never sat down all night, took me right back to my teenage years. I will be recommending this show to family and friends when it comes to Cardiff again. Well done to the singers, band and organisers, a very enjoyabe evening.

Paul Heaton at Motorpoint Cardiff
Oct 2021
Went here to see Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott. We only had to queue for 5 minutes. Upon entry we were asked to provide proof that we were double jabbed (good for our peace of mind). Our tickets were scanned and in we went. Lots of people around but were still able to have a little space for ourselves. Great night was had by all!

Disappointed
Oct 2021
Visited last night for an Elvis gig. Very disappointed with the seating. The seats were small fold up chairs set out onto the floor. Not sure why the rammed so many chairs so close together when there was plenty of room in the arena.
We paid £8 each to upgrade to the private bar with separate entrance so we wouldn’t have to que. What a waste of money. They had a DJ who was playing music not associated with the gig until I asked. No atmosphere and drinks extortionate prices. Wish we’d stayed in the local pub longer.
Friends of mine had paid £25 to upgrade to a meal, they too were disappointed.
If I went to the Motorpoint again, which is highly unlikely, I definitely wouldn’t upgrade to anything.

Awful sound.I could hardly hear Andy Bell and has a beautiful clear voice clear voice.
This is not the first time I’ve been to a concert there and couldn’t hear what was going on it’s always sounds like a noise coming from the stage and very garbled terrible acoustics. I believe if the artists knew her about it sound they wouldn’t bother going there.

Great venue

Attended an Erasure concert here. Queued outside for several hours before the show and the staff checked in with us throughout the time. Easy entry and a great venue for a concert. Plenty of easy access... parking and trains nearby.

Motorpoint - Give it a miss if you like live music
Oct 2021
This is the worst sound system I have ever heard - Conor Mason has an amazing voice, but couldn't hear him, could just about tell someone was playing a guitar and whatever the buzzing background noise was, drowned everything and just made the seats vibrate.
On the up side, the very long queue to get in moved very quickly, staff were helpful, toilet were clean with no long queues, but I'll never use this venue again - i'll be going back to the Midlands for music events - well worth the extra money in travel and hotel
