A lovely place to visit... 25 mi. Slow walk from Cardiff centre but unfortunately through a run down part of town. The quay itself is nice with plenty of choice for food but it lacks any shops so people were eating or drinking and leaving. Maybe a few shops would keep people there longer ? Shame surrounding area is so... More

We chanced upon this restaurant having previously had drinks at a cocktail bar which no longer served food. This is situated at the end of a little pier and I imagine is the only family run restaurant in the Bay Area..so many are chains, but this really felt genuine and that the staff (particularly Nev) really cared! We were given... More

Shame to be served tourist food without any real dedication whatsoever. You call those nachos? Do you even know what nachos should be? And you call that ice creme? Shame on you again for this tourist junk. Avoid at all costs.

We visit the Quay depending on the activities available. They have an annual calendar of events so there's always something for everyone. With a great range of bars and restaurants, it also fills up the kids!

Wonderful array of bars and restaurants, plenty enough to satisfy any palate, everything from good pub grub up to fine dining and all set in a lovely area - and a perfect spot to walk it off afterwards if you're just a little guilty of over indulging!!!

Very attractive place. In short, Don't miss it. It has a lot of Restaurants and coffeeshops around the area. The food varieties are high and services around it available. I really recommend it to enjoy your time while you are in Cardiff.

Our first view of Mermaid Quay was from a water taxi which brought us down-river from Cardiff Castle. A great way to arrive. Lots of restaurants and eateries, and, for my mind, just a few shops, but a great starting place to visit the Opera House, the Docks etc. Well worth the trip

The bay is great, we stayed at the Travelodge and walked to the main food area which took about 10 minutes. The weather was glorious and it made us feel like we were abroad. There are lots of bars and restaurants and coffee shops. There is a big wheel which is only £4 each and there was a little fairground... More
