Old library

Good tourist information centre that is well stocked with leaflets and lots of merchandise for sale. Housed in an old library.

Great If You Speak Welsh
Oct 2018 • Couples
Visited on a Monday. Cool stuff, nice quality but everything was in Welsh. We looked around and then left.

Location of tourist information
Aug 2018 • Couples
It seems ridiculous to site the tourist information inside Cardiff castle gift shop. We have just been shouted at by ticket office staff as we made our approach towards the tourist information desk without a castle ticket. Such a shame as it's our first negative vibe whilst visiting the wonderful city of Cardiff.

Llaeth a Swgwr Restaurant is a hidden Gem!
Aug 2018 • Couples
Llaeth a Swgwr is a lovely 'Café' in the Old Library in the Hayes Cardiff. I would put it's cuisine above some of the better restaurants where I've eaten in Cardiff. Their fresh Mussel Linguine with Chorizo is a simple but perfectly executed dish and the Monkfish on Celeriac is quite stunning. The staff are all very friendly and very attentive and leave you wanting for nothing. All this at Café prices makes Llaeth a Swgwr a must visit if appreciate good food and great service!

You were so friendly and helpful

We popped into TIC to check out how to find Cardiff Bay and the Norwegian Church where Roald Dahl was baptised. You offered different options including maps etc. Thank you-we found our way. A truly great experience. Even your farewell in English and Welsh language was a lovely touch.

Frustrating!!
Jun 2018 • Friends
The man working there was unable to give us any type of information! He couldn't give us a map, (so you can't imagine about the advice) he was not even looking at us in the eyes... Why is he working in such a place ???

Excellent and Informative
May 2017 • Couples
This review relates to the Tourist Information Centre located in The Hayes in the same building housing the Cardiff Story Museum.

I wish to commend Gareth, a Project Manager with the Centre, for his excellent assistance in giving us a feel for Cardiff and for things to do here being our first visit to Wales.

Several other staff were also present to guide and assist fellow tourists and visitors.

Thanks to Gareth, I can plan the next 4 days of our stay in Wales before we return to London.

A disgrace!!!!!!
Mar 2017
The tourist information centre is not in the old library and moved some time ago to the docks development. I wrote a full, scathing review of this facility a few weeks ago but it was not published by tripadvisor. This is just a muted summary. It is ridiculous that so many negative reviews have been left without any response. The tourist information centre is a good 25 minute walk from where it is advertised as being located. We walked there and were told the venue we were looking for was located very near to where we had started from......so we walked all the way back. It's a joke, it's one of the most stupid relocations I have ever come across. Why move such a potentially important resource giving information about the city out of the city????

Nice Souvenir Shop
May 2017
Nice set-up in the Millennium Center, good place to buy souvenirs without all the honky-tonk. And you can collect information to educate your visit.

Lost in Cardiff
Apr 2017 • Couples
Unfortunately we could not find the TI as the information given as to the location (old library) is incorrect - this is now a gift shop. We needed a map and tourist information. Given link to website is also broken. Love Cardiff but TI needs to get their act together.
