Great way to see Cardiff if you are there for a short time. Commentary was good, however we did have problems with the recorded commentary. Hop on hop off was ideal for us to view selected sights.

I have been to other Hop-on Hop-off tours in different cities and this was just as good as the others. I find that these tours are a great way to introduce yourself to the city. It takes you around the city, while giving you some background information.
I travelled with my best friend and hopped onto the first bus that was available (10am). We were lucky enough to be handed tickets that lasted for that day we travelled and the whole of the next day too (meaning it lasted 48 hours!) Also, with the tickets we purchased, it gives you 10% off tickets to Cardiff Castle.
The stops of interest are Cardiff castle, National Museum, Cardiff Bay (restaurants and a place to walk around a few shops), St Mary's street (short walk to City Centre). These are the places we went to but also realised at an early stage the tour guide may not tell you when the stops are approaching, therefore if you don't push the stop button, you may not know where the stops.
All in all, it was a good use of £13.50.

Cardiff is a very nice city. The tour has only a few stops but it's a good way to orient yourself to the area. We would not have been able to see the Cardiff Bay area if not for the hop on hop off tour.

For a stranger visiting Cardiff, the sightseeing bus is the best way to explore - it's comfortable, informative, easy to find and very reasonably priced. You can get out at any stop, look around and get onto a later bus. The recorded commentary is available in a number of languages - you just have to select the correct channel on the controls. When you get off, keep the earphones - you will need them when you get back on. The bus takes you to parts of Cardiff most people don't know about, as well as many interesting historical sites.

Cardiff is a fascinating city. So many places to see and to discover . The City Sightseeing bus is an excellent way to start your visit to the city of Cardiff .

The tour wasn't what we expected and a bit pricey. You don't get an Tour Guide, the commentary is via headphones which are plugged in. At times the commentary and speed of the bus didn't match so, you could miss things mentioned in the commentary as the bus passed it. face mask must be worn at all times when on the tour bus.
There is a stop outside the National Museum of Wales. The Museum is free to enter but, you have to book the entry in advance. You can't simply hop off the bus and into the museum which is what we tried to do. I felt that the driver could have passed that information to us when we boarded. I suspect that he probably didn't know himself.
The buses are frequent about on every 50 minutes and punctual. The ticket last for two days which is a plus.

Thank you for the review. All commentary be it live-guided or recorded multi-lingual is delivered through headphones to reduce noise pollution. At present we are only offering the recorded commentary due to Covid-19 and the fact that face coverings are mandatory for all those on board (except the driver). Many attractions are pre-book in advance due to restricted numbers. We have endeavoured to list these on our website and advise staff (the museum is included in this list) but advise anyone who wishes to visit alternative attractions to make direct contact due to the ever changing environment. We hope that you managed to make use of the 2 day ticket and enjoyed Cardiff overall.

We were only there for a day from London. We took the entire tour to see everything the city had to offer & then decided where to get off & get back on when u are done viewing a specific area.

I am a great fan of bus tours because they give you a great opportunity to see a lot of sights in a short time. You can always go back for a longer look if something takes your fancy. There is a recorded commentary with earphones but we had a competent real life guide who was very good. We just hopped off to see Cardiff Castle but the ticket lasts for two days and you could use the bus as a taxi service once you have bought your ticket.
I think the bus tour was well worth the price of the ticket.

I am relatively familiar with Cardiff but learnt a lot from the tour commentary. The ticket was good value, being valid over two days, and allowed for revisiting of points of interest after the initial tour. Interesting and friendly operatives.

My five year old is desperate to go on an open top bys, so taking her and my niece in the summer holidays, any suggestions for best places / activities to stop at?
