I walk through Bute park regularly, and there is something for everyone. Good for: Walking through the manicured beds, discovering the play equipment in the wooded area, finding the big picture frame near the stone circle, taking a board trip into the bay, gigs and...More

Cannot beat a lovely walk around the park. Especially with the flowers blooming, it can make for a wonderful detour. Absolutely love it here and would even say it's one of my favourite things about Cardiff

Have been to Bute Park several times and it never lets me down . Just through the main gate you'll find the hustle and bustle of the Capitol city , but step into the Park and you are met with an air of tranquility. The...More

The park is a wonderful open space in a large busy city, where many people are seen eating their lunch, relaxing in their dinner break. The park has lots of walks, cycling, history, and appeals to all ages.

beautiful parkland around Cardiff castle along the river Taff , parts of woodland and the Taff trail to walk or cycle along the river. Beautiful flower displays and a nice place to stop for a coffee.

Was part of the Go Dad run in the park. The park is well used and at the time also had the Euro fanzine. The park is well looked after and has some beautiful areas that are well worth exploring.

Having some knowledge of the city (mostly from 50 years ago as students!) we stayed on Cathedral Road, knowing that we could walk through Bute Park to Cathays Park and the city centre, which we did several times. It is a great feature of the...More

Depends where in the Park you are walking and time of year; for a summer stroll on the main footpaths, ordinary shoes are fine. If you are dog walking in autumn or winter, then good quality wellies are advised
