Terrible service

Went to take my daughter to the jump in gym, was told rather abruptly that I needed a booking or I wouldn’t get in. I replied that I had tried to book, but as the don’t answer the phone and the website doesn’t make it very easy (whilst also saying I should have a membership when I live 300 miles away??) I was hoping just to pay and go in. Apparently that’s not allowed. “You need to book online” is what I was told, again very abruptly. Where’s the customer care? Thanks for disappointing my daughter, I won’t be back. We’ll go to the ones that welcome us and understand my predicament.
If your part of the management- TRAIN YOUR STAFF IN CUSTOMER CARE!! Is it too much to ask for, I’m sorry sir, but all bookings are online, however we could arrange something now for your next visit if you like??
Get it sorted.

Miserable, unwelcoming staff
Jun 2021 • Solo
I’ve been a member for many years now and apart from a few staff the majority of the staff are truly horrendous they are ignorant, miserable and unhelpful. I use the gym and booking in at the front desk is one of my pet hates, unless you have one of the few nice staff available then it’s really a miserable experience they can’t be bothered to make eye contact and they are miserable and unwelcoming the majority of the time you’re lucky if you get a grunt or some inaudible reply, I really find it an uncomfortable experience their customers service skills are non existent. The front desk is the main hub of the building and should be a welcoming experience but I find it truly awful. I run my own business and if I treated my customers in the way that they treat people then within a couple of months I wouldn’t have a business. Come on HALO Bridgend sort it out you can do better than this, if you have staff there who really can’t be bothered then get rid of them. The gym is my time to unwind I don’t want it spoiled but miserable staff.

Shocking service from halo leisure in general. Payed for a membership and can't book a swim without getting charged. Left numerous messages with no reply and made alot of phone calls without the issue getting resolved, not blaming the staff as they are probably trying to do many jobs at once, but the company in general is shhhhiii...

Bad experience with swimming
Feb 2020 • Family
We're a family of 5 and came for a 11 o clock swimming session during half term. In fairness it was busy, but we struggled for room in the changing rooms. The receptionists on the counter could do with being a bit more friendly. We then couldn't find a locker where we didn't need our own padlock and key. When we asked an attendant about this, he said they'd run out of locks so we couldn't purchase one. We ended up taking all our stuff poolside and leaving it under the lifeguard's chair. Not great. Then I think there was a mistake made by letting too many people into the session and the wave machine never came on. The floats were all broken and in a bit of a mess. Overall, we made the best of it but feel Halo Leisure are struggling a bit.

Ignorant unhelpful staff
Oct 2019 • Family
Called the leisure centre to check the pool was open, lady on the phone said " yes all day" we drove down and arrived 20 minutes latter. Asked for 2 adults and a baby. We was then told " the pool isnt available until 2 pm ( over an hour to wait), We asked why was the pool not available, and explained we called 20 minutes earlier to check the pool was available, in a sarcastic manner we was told. " you asked if the pool was open, which it is, you never asked anything else, pool is open you just cant use it until 2pm".

Really annoying the attitude of the staff here

Room for improvement

Before I start, must just say I do love this place! Fab gym with state of the art equipment, good selection of classes & potentially a great ‘hub’ for the local community. BUT, cafe overpriced ! This is not a salubrious cafe! The prices need to be halved ! Not even generous cups so very poor value for money. Gemma & the staff do their best when confronted with this criticism, but they have to take the backlash of people’s complaints. Shape up management! The library is fab as part of this complex too. Look at previous comments & see that many people feel disgruntled by many things.

Facilities good, Staff awful!!
Aug 2019 • Family
Been here many times for many things to include swimming, soft play, use of the library, pram fit classes and fitness classes, all very good.

However, the customer service received from the staff behind the counter welcoming you to the centre leaves a lot to be desired!! Slow, unorganised, uninterested. No communication skills. Rude.
A great leisure centre with a lot going for it, just let down by many staff making it an unpleasant experience.

Many events at evening time super Gym if you can handle it very popular with walking machines. Happy sociable place for all. also children's crèche care. My son saw someone diving by the no
diving sign, so he thought the lifeguard did nothing and when along with it and did a front flip and the lifeguard just laughed but when my sons friend did a pen jump into the pool they all got kicked out. When my sons friend asked for how long he said “till I say so”
