Love this place, from all the wild woods to the Japanese garden and the tea shop. Plenty to see but must wear suitable clothing and footwear. The bluebells were magnificent this year, worth making the effort to climb up to this remote area. It's a steep climb down to the river via boardwalks, but the wild flowers make it worthwhile.... Visited here for an afternoon stroll with the dog. So many different trails to choose from you would never get bored revisiting. Tea room near the car park if wanted but we did not try this. Free toilets also located near the car park. Huge playground made our walk worthwhile for our nephew who we had with us. Lots of... More

I love this place. It's a pleasure to walk through these beautiful gardens and it's especially nice to go there for a picnic. There's a nice coffee shop for refreshments and a small, very reasonable garden centre selling flowers, shrubs and trees to help fund the upkeep of the park. The house is well kept and the restaurant looks good.

We wanted to go on a lovely walk in the sunshine and chose a country house in the hope that it would be buggy friendly. We were wrong. I practically destroyed the pram pushing it along woodland paths over massive roots and stones, not to mention the stairs. We ended our walk early out of frustration and headed to the... More

suitable for families, couples or anyone who just wants a nice quiet relaxing stroll through the forest and getting the weight of the world off their shoulders. It is large enough that its not too crowded. The oriental gardens are lovely and very well maintained. We went on a quiet, sunny day and had a lovely picnic and i would... More

We had a great circular walk along the river and rewarded ourselves with tea and cake at the Cedar Café. We enjoyed our carrot cake slice and pot of tea and loved the décor and lovely china cups. We'll come back when the weather improves.
