Cheap family day out
Aug 2021 • Family

We have visited Bryngarw on lots of occasions over the years and my cousin got married at the beautiful Bryngarw House. Bryngarw Country Park really is a hidden gem. The park is great for walking (dogs are welcome on a lead) or for people who enjoy visiting woodland and oriental gardens. There is a river teeming with fish and often squirrels and rabbits can be seen playing within the park. There is a great children's playground with an enormous slide and there are plenty of places to enjoy a picnic. Within the park there is a cafe and during school holidays the volunteers run craft workshops for children. This is a cheap family day out, because it costs just £3 to park all day.

You need better and faster parking machines!

Lovely facility which is under funded and could be a gold mine with proper management and promotion.Parking £3 all day with no other choice?Surely there should be other options.
Coffee(mine black no sugar)was disgusting and didn't taste of coffee?Hard to achieve!
Lovely walks with repair work done to the boardwalks but so many trees have fallen in the river.Quite a lot of rubbish around the site which is disappointing. It was so much better when the restaurant was operating and regular staff looked after the wedding business.

Pleasant river walk
Apr 2021 • Couples
Our first day out since lockdown and wanted to keep it low key and away from large crowds.
£2.50 parking and although busy could social distance easily.

Pleasant enough park with a nice walk along the river. Enjoyed my visit as never visited before and a nice cafe there, only taking card payment at the moment.

Probably not enough for me to come back as I live 30 miles away but lovely park if you live locally. Really enjoyed some time away from home after being locked down in my own community for so long, in a outside safe environment away from large crowds you would find at the coast

First off the gardens and walks are lovely. Enjoyed the river and Japanese gardens. Well kept and peaceful. Avoid the, 'coffee shop'. Only outdoor sitting on dirty seats and unhygienic tables. Very little on offer. Cake was straight out of the fridge and dry and tasteless. Some other customers also gave up on it and were feeding it to squirrels. Building work going on right next to c as cafe. Drilling banging and so on. Understandable, but builders had a radio going on Radio 2 which was so loud you couldn't hear any conversation. I know this is only temporary. Just feel that a lot of other cafes have got their act together much more successfully during these challenging times. Also no excuse for poor food at anytime.

Underwhelmed
Aug 2020 • Couples
My wife and I booked a table for afternoon tea, we were very underwhelmed by the ambience, we booked as we read the menu on the company website as we like to travel around and try different restaurants.
The sandwiches were plain, the cakes were stale, and the “homemade scones” were bought not made on site.
To top this experience off, I read the menu on line again, in small print they wrote “sample menu”, after speaking of our displeasure to the duty manager who did go back to the wording “sample” I expressed if 1 out of the 10 things was different we could not argue but unfortunately 9 out of ten things were different, I am only giving the 1 for the scone - that was not homemade!! So should be 10 things different, he said he was going to speak to marketing to adjust the website........so we shall see

Lovely park
Feb 2020
This is a great park with plenty to do. There is an outside gym, children's play area, walks along the woodland and a cafe. In the summer this is a great place for a picnic. The park is also a popular wedding venue.

Great day out
Jan 2020 • Family
Good sized car park and only £3 parking all day.

Small cafe on site (sells brilliant ice cream) and toilets.

Excellent woodland walks, plenty to see just remember your wellies if it’s been raining! There are ducks on the pond also.

The play ground has plenty to off for children of all ability’s! And there are a few picnic benches about.

10/10 would recommend and go here regularly
