Walked through to Newton beach, very easy to get lost, there are a lot of interconnecting paths, and walking on sand saps your strength, not to be approached lightly.

I lived very near the sand dunes at Merthyr Mawr, I remember being told NOT to swim in the pools down there. I of course, did. Does anyone else remember this particular little bit of Heaven on Earth?!

Wonderful afternoon visit with my sister, 2 teenage nephews and Rosie the whippet! Amazing place, beautiful castle was a highlight Candleston Castle not far from the car park!

A great place to visit for anyone. Lots to explore and see around the area some cracking views from the top. Lots of fun to run around.

No Merthyr Mawr sand dunes backs onto Newton beach which does have lifeguards. keep away from the river estuary especially when the tides going out. Newton beach is more for water activities swimming is better around the... More
