The actual Heritage Centre is closed due to cutbacks. We had a guided tour round the Ironworks though and that was really interesting. They need plenty of support to keep going so do go !!

Small but interesting
May 2014 • Couples
This is a small museum in the old primary school building, not worth driving a long way to visit but definitely worth calling in if you are in the area. There is an exhibition giving details of John Wilkinson who had an iron works in the 1700s. He invented new ways of making iron and there is a lot of interesting information giving details about how it is made. There is also an exhibition about Brymbo Steelworks and information about the workers. There is a children’s play area next to it.

A little Jewel
Aug 2012 • Family
Set in the old Bersham village school there is a good variety of information linking into Bersham's history and the Wilkinson family. Special quizes and activities aimed for children.

A little secret gem
Jul 2013
We decided to walk from nant mill to the heritage centre and are so pleased we did. The walk itself was lovely, the sculptures fantastic and the path clear of rubbish. We did the trail and found the markers which kept the kids entertained and happy as did the maze. The heritage centre was brilliant. Very informative, child friendly and well presented. Our kids were able to try out the Victorian school room complete with slate boards, chalks and caps! We loved every aspect of this trip but special mention has to go to the staff who went above and beyond what was probably in their daily routine to make sure we were well looked after and experienced everything the mill and heritage centre had to offer.

Small industrial museum
Sep 2012
Its set in a victorian primay school, so just 4 rooms of industrial history. Mining and steel history mostly.

Its too small to make a special trip but that also means its free. Theres a small kids park so with that you can spend an hour here if you have small kids.

Good Local Museum

They work very hard at this museum, it's always fun - great for kids too! Not just for adults - the old school desks and display is always a hit for the little ones (and not so little!)
