I am 6 months pregnant and didn't feel up to the 5 hour hike up Snowdonia so we took a 1 and a half hour walk around the lake and up to the quarry hospital. It was really lovely with the water, birds, and sheep. You can get a great view of the valley from the quarry hospital. We also... More

This is one of my most favourite walks in North Wales. It is mildly challenging. I normally start in Llanberis and head for the slate museum area. I then walk up to the slate hospital and go through the forest. It really is breathtakingly beautiful and I would highly recommend this as a warm up walk before tackling Snowdon. You... More

A lovely 6 mile walk in Snowdonia, without any real climbing! Start from the car park and follow the well-marked paths. A super day out!

We decided to walk around Lake Padern before returning home, after a short break in Llanberis (walking in the mountains). It really is a lovely varied 5.6 mile walk, combining an undulating section of woodland walking on the far side of the Lake, and an easy flat section on the Llanberis side. Great views of Mt. Snowdon throughout.

Had a walk around the lake which took about 3 hours, we took our time and enjoyed the varied scenery, well signed paths, slippery in parts, lots of chances to see the old slate mine workings, keep an eye out for the eucalyptus tree.....

Four of us made this walk starting from the railway station & went anti- clockwise around the lake up a hill through historic virgin woodland passing Vivien Quarry, old hospital & other derilect buildings before reaching far side & returning through old railway tunnel & flat path.

The perfect place for a nice picnic after enjoying any or all of the attractions in the town. Even a steam train around part of the lake.

The lake is quiet and clean. I was almost tempted to swim. You can see Snowdonia from here and mountain range with different colour tones. There were various type of birds playing around the lake and it is worth a wait for sunset. Just enjoy my photos and you will know why I said it is breathtaking.

We have just spent a couple of days in the area and thoroughly enjoyed walking around this beautiful lake with Snowdon in the background. What more could you ask for, amazing place.
