A lovely walk on our way to Stack lighthouse. A misty day so the moors looks spooky. Very dramatic. Very near the road so not far at all to walk and an easy walk. There is an information board telling you a little about them but use your imagination to feel the past. Lovely find. Parking right opposite the gate.

Excellent visit to the Mountain Hit Circles. We've been a few times over the years and ways love our visit. More information boards would be nice. One of the hut circles still has a grinding stone in situ which is exciting. Well maintained site. There are tours available (although not sure where from/who operates but we saw an American family having a tour). Entrance opposite the first car park on the way up the RSPB centre. Parking is expensive and it's cash only (!).

Good day out when combined with a walk up to the RSPB centre (free), view of South Stack Lighthouse (tickets available from booth near RSPB centre) and walk up the cliff side.

This is a great place of interest to visit set by the sea with lovely views. The Roman hut circles are easily accessible by car and what makes it even better is that there are loads of them to look at, rather than just one or two. Lots of other stuff to see near by such as the lighthouse.

The Hut Circles are close to the lower car park at South Stack the gate is opposite the entrance to the car park, as there is only a small sign most visitors to South Stack miss this ancient settlement, there are a large number of hut circles and what I assume must have been store rooms and one is left wondering how these people lived, what they ate, what did they use for fuel, the views from the village are stunning and it is well worth a visit

The hut circles are a short walk from RSPB South Stack and South Stack lighthouse. There is a small sign directing you through a gate in the dry stone wall where you will see a tourist notice board giving a description of the site.
There are no solid footpaths but definite grassy trails to follow through a maze of the stone hut circles and patches of gorse. Access to the hut circles is not inhibited by any fences or blockades, visitors are trusted to respect the site and wander freely.
The first circles are close by and make the site interesting for less active walkers. There are many more tracks to follow in a maze which dwindles into rough impassable ground.
The views are stunning and in spring and summer there are beautiful, unique flowers and plants to enjoy.
Winter weather can be cold, wet and extremely windy, but you get the view of the snow capped mountains of Snowdonia to make up for it.

We absolutely love the hut circles near South Stack. An informative tourist spot but it is somewhere we like to picnic - we respect the place and leave it as undisturbed as found but enjoy the views and also the shelter from the winds.

A remarkable settlement with historic value.
At first I thought it was not for me but it proved fascinating to reflect on previous civilization and their way of life.

These preserved and restored stone hut circles give you fine views across Anglesey and make you feel like you are back in 500 BC!

On the way to South Stack the circle can be found just off the road. Obviously interesting archaeologically but there is not a lot to see and little explanation for the visitor, worth a short visit while in the area.
